Basic parts and function of a powerpoint screen

WHAT IS POWERPOINT?
Microsoft PowerPoint is a powerful presentation software developed by Microsoft. It is a
standard component of the company's Microsoft Office suite software, and is bundled together
with Word, Excel and other Office productivity tools. The program uses slides to convey
information rich in multimedia. The term "slide" refers to the slide projector, which this software
effectively replaces.

TITLE BAR
• Displays the document name followed by a program name.
Quick access tool bar
• This button position top left portions, this toolbar customizable, you can move this in two
possible locations. This toolbar consists a set of commands that is independent on the tab
of the ribbon that currently displayed and you can add commands on the buttons.
MENU BAR
• Contains a list of options to manage and customize
Tabs on ribbon
• This menus contains all the commands and other menu items that you can help to find the
command easily.
Slides pane
• Feature available in some programs, usually found on the left side of the window, which
displays thumbnails of files or features available in the program.
Formatting toolbar
• Contains button for formatting
Standard toolbar
• Provides a quick shortcut to many frequently used functions. You can customize the
buttons that appear on the standard toolbar using the customize toolbar menu item
(under the Tools menu).
STATUS BAR
• This area provides information about the active slide, and also provides several View
options.
Scroll bar
• A vertical or horizontal bar commonly located on the far right or bottom of a window that
allows you to move the window viewing area up, down, left, or right.
Notes pane
• You can add reminders, talking points, or other pieces of information about some or all of
the slides in your presentation to help you while you're in front of your audience.
Design menu toolbar
• The Variant category of the Design menu allows you to change the colors and patterns of
that theme that you selected
Insert menu toolbar
• Click Insert to add something to a slide. This includes pictures, shapes, charts, links, text
boxes, video and more.
ANIMATIONS tab
• Use the Animations tab to choreograph the movement of things on your slides. Note that
you can see many possible animations in the gallery in the Animation group, and see
more of them by clicking More More button .
Slideshow tab
• On the Slide Show tab, set up the way that you want to show your presentation to others.
REVIEW TAB
• The Review tab lets you add comments, run spell-check, or compare one presentation
with another (such as an earlier version).
View tab
• Views allow you to look at your presentation in different ways, depending on where you
are in the creation or delivery process.
File tab
• At one end of the ribbon is the File tab, which you use for the behind-the-scenes stuff you
do with a file, such as opening, saving, sharing, exporting, printing and managing your
presentation. Click the File tab to open a new view called the Backstage.
