The pie charts illustrate the careers chosen by female graduates of Aberforth University in 1985

and 2010. Over the period, education was among the most chosen careers by female
professionals, with 40 percent in 1985 and 25 per cent in 2000. In 1985, the number of female
graduates who chose education as their profession was almost as much as the number of
professionals who chose other careers. The arts were the second career selected by female
graduates in 1985, with 25 per cent, followed by medicine, with 20 per cent. Fewer female
professionals were interested in management and engineering, with 10 percent and 5 percent,
respectively. In 2010 the number of female graduates involved in education was equal to that in
medicine, with 25 per cent. There were more female graduates who chose engineering and
management than those who chose education in 2010. It can be seen that in 2010 management
and engineering were more popular among female graduates than in 1985.
