1. FROZEN- means that the type of language used has not
changed over time, & will remain the same in the future.

Example: The Lord’s Prayer


Teacher: Okay class good morning! Before we start,
please stand up and let us pray.
Teacher and Students: In the name of the father, the
son, the holy spirit, Amen.
Teacher: So, u may not sit. And please quiet. So, let’s
start the discussion, please listen.
2. FORMAL- is an adjective that refers to anything that is
important or official, carried out in a manner that follows
convention.

Example: The Vow’s


Priest: So, welcome everyone! We are gathered here
today to witness the joining of Dingdong Dantes and
Marian Rivera’s holy matrimony.
So, we will now continue the vows. Dingdong,
repeat after me. “I, Dingdong Dantes, take you,
Marian Rivera to be my wife”.
Dingdong Dantes: I, Dingdong Dantes, take you,
Marian Rivera to be my wife.
3. CONSULTATIVE- is an adjective which means; it’s a word that
describes a noun or speaking with someone.

Example: Teacher and Student Exchange


Student: Gosh, I really don’t understand what to do for
the activity, is it like essay or speech?
Teacher: So, guys, the activity is based on the lessons
we’ve discussed today. So, you need to analyze the
lessons, minimum of 500 words and it would be pass
tomorrow.
4. CASUAL- can mean relaxed, informal, unconcerned, or
friendly.

Example: Conversation of Niana and her friend Mitch


Niana: My gosh girl, we’ve passed the exam!!
Mitch: Yes sis, omg!!! We need to celebrate!
Niana: Let’s go to our favorite Café!!
5. INTIMATE- usually used in private situations between
close friends, family or partners.

Example: Milissa and Ranz Conversation


Ranz: Happy 5th Anniversary, Love! I’m finally see
myself as a happiest person when I’m with you!
Milissa: Love, u have a good heart, so I don’t have any
reason to hurt your feelings. I’m always here if u want to
talk too. Happy 5th Anniversary, love! I hope after
another 5 years, you will be a father of our children!
