ASSIGNMENT QUESTION
Part I
QUESTION 1: REPORT INTERVIEW (40%)
The role of a school leader is to foster a positive school climate in which depicted by a
school environment that is peaceful, comfortable, safe, has high academic
expectations with strong support, strong relationships among teachers as well as free
threats and serious disciplinary problems either among teachers, staff or students.
(Sheninger & Murray, 2017)
Based on the statement above, you are required to conduct an interview with a school
leader on their best practices for promoting a positive school climate. The interview
should address the following aspects:
1. Profile of key informant (school leader)
2. Qualitative data analysis
- Strategies used to maintain a positive school climate
- Strategies used to improve a negative school climate
3. Key findings and conclusion
You may relate the conversation structure with any of the four principal processes of
management (planning, organizing, leading, controlling) by referring to the table
below:

Based on the interview in Question 1, you are required to identify and discuss which
type of management styles are implemented by the respective school principal.
Support your stand with relevant examples and literature from at least THREE sources,
which can include books and articles from journals and/or established websites.

ONLINE CLASS PARTICIPATION (10%)
This part requires students to participate actively in the MyINSPIRE eforum. Discuss the
following topics in the forum and submit proof of your participation with your tutor and
peers in the eforum online discussions:

(a) Reflect on your personal values, beliefs, and experiences. How do they shape your
philosophy on educational leadership? Write a personal leadership statement that
encapsulates your core beliefs and how they influence your approach to education
management.
(b) Consider a time when you faced an ethical dilemma in an educational setting.
Describe the situation, the emotions you felt, and the values that were in conflict.
How did you resolve the situation, and what did you learn about your own values
and emotional responses in the process?
(c) How do you believe emotional intelligence plays a role in effective education
management? Reflect on a situation where understanding and managing emotions
(yours or others') led to a positive outcome in an educational context. How might
you further develop your emotional intelligence skills for future leadership roles?
(d) Think about a diverse educational environment you've been a part of or observed.
How did the management ensure an inclusive environment that catered to the
emotional well-being of individuals from different cultural backgrounds? Reflect on
your own feelings and attitudes towards cultural inclusivity in education
management and how you might implement these insights in your leadership
approach.
