Unit 1 Case Study - Who Stays, Who goes?

The criteria that I have created for the layoffs would be to get rid of the employees who

were unable to meet the sales goal that was set for the firm. I would do this by terminating their

employment. The overall grade that was given to their performance evaluation will play a

significant role in determining this. This sheds light on whether or not they made an attempt to

accomplish the goal, as well as on whether or not they made any effort at all. I believe it is

essential to at least give the people who actually tried another chance because they aren't simply

brushing it off like it's nothing because they aren't dismissing it as if it's nothing significant. I

think it is crucial to at least offer the people who truly tried another opportunity.

After conducting an in-depth and rigorous examination, I have come to the conclusion

that it is in my best interests to sever ties with Winfrey Jones, Kelly Andrews, and Deb Waters.

This decision was arrived at after coming to the realisation that it is in my best interests to do so.

I will be terminating the employment of these three workers owing to the fact that not only were

they unable to meet the sales target, but they also did not put forth their best effort in order to do

so. As a result, I will be holding them accountable for their failure to meet the quota. I believe

that the most efficient way to deliver the information that they are being laid off would be to

conduct a separate meeting with each of these three employees in order to discuss the matter

with them individually.

Following the termination of these three employees from their respective posts. To

convey this information to the other workers in the most efficient manner, I believe that calling a

meeting and inviting them all to come would be the best course of action to take. In the course

of their conversation, in addition to talking about the departure of their fellow employees, they

also spoke about other topics. I will also advise and encourage the personnel who are already

working for the company to at the very least do their best to meet the sales target that has been

set. In the hope that it would encourage them to do even better in the future, I will fill them in on
the details of the situation that led to the termination of the three employees in question and

explain to them why those people were let go. In addition, I will make it a point to express my

gratitude to them for all of the hard effort that they have put in.
