The individual transformation to human consciousness as well as the


societal transformation to a humane society. For this, the education has
to ensure:

1. Right understanding in every child,

2. The capacity to live in relationship with other human beings, and

3. The capacity to identify the need for physical facility, the skills and practice for
sustainable production of more than what is required, leading to the feeling of
prosperity.

The prime need of value education is to understand human aspirations, to


discover what is truly valuable in life

The content of value education has to be universal, rational, natural, verifiable


and leading to harmony.

The basic aspiration of a human being is continuity of happiness and


prosperity. To fulfil this, three things are required in order of priority: Right
Understanding, Relationship and Physical Facility, and one cannot be
substituted for the other.

Holistic development is the transformation from animal consciousness to


human consciousness.

All human beings aspire for a happy, fulfilling life. For a human being, there are
two important questions pertaining to this:

• What is my aspiration?

• How to fulfil my aspiration?

All of us consider something or the other to be valuable. We set our goals, our
aims on this basis, and then set out to work towards achieving them.

Value education is required to correctly identify our basic aspirations, understand


the values that enable us to fulfil our basic aspiration, ensure the complementarity
of values and skills, and to properly evaluate our beliefs.

Any course content on value education needs to be universal, rational, natural,


verifiable, all- encompassing and leading to harmony.

The content of value education is expected to include all dimensions of a human


being and all levels of one’s living.

The process of value education adopted here is that of self-exploration which


includes two things: verification at the level of natural acceptance and experiential
validation in living.

WHAT IS SELF-EXPLORATION? WHAT IS ITS PURPOSE?

It is a process of dialogue between “what you are” and


“what you really want to be”.

It is a process of self-evolution through self-investigation.

It is a process of knowing oneself and through that,


knowing the entire existence.

It is a process of recognizing one’s relationship with every


unit in existence and fulfilling
it.

It is a process of knowing human conduct, human


character and living accordingly.

It is a process of being in harmony in oneself and in


harmony with entire existence.

It is a process of identifying our Innateness (Swatva) and


moving towards Selforganization

Self-exploration is a crucial process for value education due to several reasons:

- Self-exploration allows individuals to understand their own


unique values and beliefs, independent of societal
expectations or external influences.

- Self-explorative journey helps individuals understand their


strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement

- It provides the necessary foundation for this by encouraging


individuals to critically examine their values, question their
beliefs, and align their actions with their principles.

Self-exploration is a crucial process for value education due to several reasons:

as individuals explore their values in relation to
challenges and setbacks.

- Self-exploration facilitates lifelong learning and


adaptability by encouraging individuals to regularly
evaluate and refine their values based on new
experiences, knowledge, and insights.

- Self-exploration is essential for individuals to find


meaning and fulfillment in their lives.

We need to undergo Self-exploration because we want to find out what is valuable


to us, and secondly we want to understand our relationship, our participation with
the things around us.

The content of self-exploration is exploring into two fundamental questions: what


our basic aspiration is; and the program to fulfil this basic aspiration.

Process of self-exploration involves two things, firstly, verifying on the basis of


natural acceptance, and secondly, validating experientially by living accordingly.

When the proposal is verified on both the bases, it leads to realization and
understanding.

Natural Acceptance does not change with time, individual or place and is not
tainted with our pre-conditionings. It is innately present in each one of us and we
can always refer to it.

Embracing and practicing universal human values can lead to personal fulfillment, harmonious relationships, and a
