Angela's work habits are good. Students in this rotation have been focusing on the curricular competency
relating to selecting and learning about tools and technologies to extend their capacity to complete a task. In the
textiles area students completed an apron which they will now use as they begin the foods portion of the course.

Work Habits: Excellent
Career Education 8 is a full year course that combines remote learning with in-person assemblies and meetings.
In the first half of the year, students used myBlueprint to reflect on their learning style, skills, interests, and
knowledge with the aim of exploring possible career paths and eventually developing a career plan.
During semester 2 students will reflect on their short and long term personal, academic and career goals. They
will complete tasks required to achieve short term goals and reflect on their progress towards achieving longer
term goals. Students will also work on a career research project, with the aim of developing their career research
skills and connecting educational choices to career opportunities.

You are doing a great job in keeping up with course work and carefully reflecting on your skills and interests. If
you have any questions, please contact me at ppospisil@vsb.bc.ca or come by the office.

Work Habit: Good This student participated well in class and made an effort to speak French. Your child's learning
is 'Extending'. In other words, the student demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of the concepts and
competencies relevant to the expected learning. This student participated in conversations by asking and
answering basic questions about interests and preferences without support. She also gained an awareness of
French pronunciation and was able to pick out rhyming words from the vocabulary lists we worked with this
semester. To build more vocabulary, listen to music in French. It was a pleasure to have Angela in the class. Good
work this semester! Further courses in French are recommended.

Work Habit: Excellent
All work was handed in and was completed to a high degree of quality. Angela is a cooperative student and gets
along with her peers. In her interactions, she demonstrated both confidence and patience.

Angela demonstrated an excellent understanding of Social Studies 8 this semester. She incorporated creativity
into her work and provides a lot of detail in her projects. Moving forward, she will need to be more selective
about what she chooses to share, most likely dictated by assignment guidelines like number of words.

The final portion of Socials 8 involved a study of the renaissance, reformation and the period of exploration and
colonization. Students investigated the causes for the onset of the Renaissance and the different ideas and
inventions that occurred leading to exploration. They were introduced to the Columbus Exchange and the impact
of this exchange on Africans and Indigenous people.
