Jigsaw reading: separate reading into two or three sections and give ss one each to
explain to classmate (jigsaw listenings a little harder but also possible)
Running dictation: one person reads and dictates to their partner, who writes it down
Scanning race: students race to find info from texts around the room
News story: ss find out ‘how’, ‘when’, ‘where’, ‘who’ and ‘why’ then share
Use authentic texts but grade the questions to be suitable for the level
