(Prayer is to be said by the family before placing the Image of St. Pio on the Altar)
St. Pio of Pietrelcina, we are happy and honored by your visit in our home,
which you have made worthy to be the abode of your love and affection.
During these days that you will stay with us, please bless our family and
always abide with us through your graces. Give us, beloved St. Pio, your
blessings. Bless this home and those members of our family who are away
and deliver us from all evils. From now on we are consecrating our minds,
hearts and our works to you, since you are our intercessor to Jesus through
our Blessed Mother, grant that we may comply with the commandments of
your Son Jesus Christ and with the commandments of the Mother Church.
We pledge to make this visit arouse us to a true love of God and to true
devotion to you, so that we may fulfill our duties to ourselves, our neighbors,
and to our society. May peace reign in the world, St. Pio, Pray for us.
ST. PIO COMES TO OUR HOME
(Stand)
LEADER: Let us pray well as if St. Pio himself instead of his statue, is
visibly present among us.
ALL: For the love of Jesus, Mary and Joseph through the intercession of St.
Pio, let us pray slowly and from the heart.
LEADER: “And Jesus told them a parable, to the effect they ought always
to pray and not to lose heart." (Lk 18:1)
ALL: Lord Jesus, Savior of the world, “Teach us how to pray.” (Lk 11:1)
LEADER: “And Jesus answered them, whatever you ask in prayer, believe
that you receive it, and you will. And whenever you stand praying, forgive.
If you have anything against anyone, so that your Father, also Who is in
heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” (Mk 11:24-25)
ALL: We humbly ask all the Holy Angels and Saints to join us now in
prayer.
INVOCATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
ALL: + IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND OF THE SON AND OF
THE HOLY SPIRIT. AMEN
LEADER: Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts with the fire of Thy Love and the
Light of Thy Truth. Send forth Thy Spirit, and Thou shall make all things
new.
ALL: Breathe in us, O Holy Spirit, that our thoughts may all be holy.
Act in us, O Holy Spirit, that our works may all be holy.
Draw our hearts, O Holy Spirit, that we may love what is holy.
Strengthen us, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy.
Guard us then, O Holy Spirit, that we may always be holy.
(St. Augustine)
O Lord, we ask for a boundless confidence and trust in your Divine Mercy,
and the courage to accept the crosses and sufferings which bring immense
goodness to our souls and that of Your Church. Help us to love You with a
pure and contrite heart, and to humble ourselves beneath Your cross, as we
climb the mountain of holiness, carrying our cross that leads to heavenly
glory. May we receive You with great faith and love in Holy Communion,
and allow You to act in us as You desire for your greater glory. O Jesus,
Most adorable Heart and Eternal Fountain of Divine Love, may our prayer
found favor before the Divine Majesty of Your Heavenly Father. AMEN

FAREWELL PRAYER
O beloved St. Pio, the time has come, for your departure from our home,
your home also during your stay with us. Our lips cannot express the joy
overflowing in our hearts. Inspired by your love, you desired to be with us,
even for only a while. Thank you St. Pio, thank you. Come back some other
day. We will wait for you with profound ardour. Upon your departure, take
with you our hearts. Never allow us to forget you nor to stray away from
your care now and forever. AMEN
LEADER: Padre Pio loved the Mother of God and wanted everyone to
receive God’s graces through her intercession.
“I wish I had a voice strong enough to invite the sinners of the whole world
to love Our Lady” (Letters, Vol.1)
ALL: “Make every effort, like many elect souls, to follow invariably this
Blessed Mother, to walk close to her since there is no other path leading to
life except the path followed by our Mother. Let us not refuse to take this
path, we who want to reach our journey’s end. Let us invariably unite with
this dear Mother. With her, close to Jesus….”
“My only regret is that I have no adequate means by which to thank the
Blessed Virgin Mary, through whose intercession I have received so much
strength from the Lord which I am subjected day after day”
“May Mary be the star which shines on your path, and may she show you the
safe way to reach the heavenly Father.”
May Jesus and the most holy Virgin make us worthy of eternal glory. With
this faith and aspiration, I desire every blessing from heaven for you.
ALL: Lord, help me to always follow your Blessed Mother, and in doing so,
to follow you, AMEN.
Act of Consecration
O Mary, Virgin most powerful and Mother of mercy, Queen of heaven and
Refuge of sinners, we consecrate ourselves to your Immaculate Heart. We
consecrate to you our very being and our whole life; all that we have, all that
we love, all that we are. To you we give our bodies, our hearts and our souls;
to you we give our homes, our families, our country. We desire that all that is
in us and around us may belong to you, and may share in the benefits of your
motherly benediction. And that, this act of consecration may be truly
efficacious and lasting, we renew this day at your feet the promises of our
Baptism and our first Holy Communion. We pledge ourselves to profess
courageously and at all times the truths, of our Holy Faith, and to live as
Catholics who are duly submissive to all the directions of the Pope and the
Bishops in communion with him. We pledge ourselves to keep the
commandments of God and His Church, in particular to keep holy the Lord’s
Day. We likewise pledge ourselves to make the consoling practices of the
Christian religion, and above all, Holy Communion, an integral part of our
lives, in so far as we shall be able to do so. Finally, we promise you, O
glorious Mother of God and loving Mother of all, to devote ourselves whole-
heartedly to your service, in order to hasten and assure, through the
sovereignty of your Immaculate Heart, the coming of the kingdom of the
Sacred Heart of your adorable Son, in our own hearts and in the hearts of all,
in our country and in all the world, as in heaven, so on earth. AMEN.
O God, you gave St. Pio of Pietrelcina, Capuchin priest, the great privilege
of participating in a unique way in the passion of Your Son. Grant me
through his intercession the grace of...(Here state your petition) which I
ardently desire. Above all, grant me the grace of living in conformity with
the death of Jesus so that I may one day arrive at the glory of the
resurrection. Amen Glory be to the Father...(three times) Let Us Pray: God
our Father, You helped St. Pio to reflect the image of Christ through a life of
charity and self-sacrifice. May we follow your Son by walking in the
footsteps of St. Pio of Pietrelcina and by imitating his selfless love. Amen
Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not
forget You. You know how easily I abandon You. Stay with me, Lord,
because I am weak and I need Your strength, that I may not fall so often.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life, and without You, I am without
fervor. Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light, and without You, I am in
darkness. Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will. Stay with me, Lord, so
that I hear Your voice and follow You. Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to
love You very much, and always be in Your company. Stay with me, Lord, if
You wish me to be faithful to You. Stay with me, Lord, for as poor as my
soul is, I want it to be a place of consolation for You, a nest of love. Stay
with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is coming to a close, and life
passes; death, judgment, eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my
strength, so that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need You. It is
getting late and death approaches, I fear the darkness, the temptations, the
dryness, the cross, the sorrows. O how I need You, my Jesus, in this night of
exile! Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all it’s dangers. I need You.
Let me recognize You as Your disciples did at the breaking of the bread, so
that the Eucharistic Communion be the Light which disperses the darkness,
the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart. Stay with me, Lord,
because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to You, if not by
communion, at least by grace and love. Stay with me, Jesus, I do not ask for
divine consolation, because I do not merit it, but the gift of Your Presence,
oh yes, I ask this of You! Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone I look for,
Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart, Your Spirit because I love
You and ask no other reward but to love You more and more. With a firm
love, I will love You with all my heart while on earth and continue to love
You perfectly during all eternity. Amen
