Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

First and foremost, let us offer our warm greetings to all the Muslims who are present here today for
performing the blessed act of fasting. Today, I would like to discuss a topic that is crucial in our lives
as Muslims, which is the importance of keeping our hearts away from all the diseases and
temptations.

As we know, our heart is the most critical part of ourselves as human beings. The Prophet
Muhammad (PBUH) once said, "Indeed, in the body, there is a piece of flesh. If it is sound, then the
entire body is sound, but if it is corrupt, then the whole body is corrupt. Verily, it is the heart."
(Narrated by Bukhari)

However, our hearts are also a fertile ground for various diseases and temptations that come our
way. One of the most lethal diseases of the heart is jealousy (hasad). Envy can arise when we fail to
appreciate the blessings that Allah has given to others. Instead, we become envious and desire what
others have. However, Allah has determined each person's sustenance according to their degree.

Not only envy, but our hearts can also be infected with diseases like arrogance, envy, malice, and
others. Therefore, we must always guard our hearts to keep them pure and protected from sinful
acts. One of the ways to protect our hearts is by constantly remembering Allah (Dhikr) and seeking
His protection from temptations that come our way.

In addition, we also need to understand that Allah will not change the fate of anyone unless they
themselves change. Therefore, let us commit to improving ourselves every day and avoid bad deeds
for our hearts.

My brothers and sisters, as loyal Muslims, we should be role models for others in protecting our
hearts and actions. Let us commit together to safeguard our hearts from the diseases that are quite
rampant in modern times like now.
