(1) Connect the probe of digital multimeter (or oscilloscope) measurement point on
the main board (positive probe – TP15, negative probe – TP16).
(2) Select the appropriate DC voltage measurement range for 1 to 4.5 V signal level.
(3) Take an exposure with desired kV setting.
(4) Reading the voltage value and record it.
(5) The actual tube voltage relates to the measured feedback signal an follows :
Actual tube voltage = 20kV * measurement feedback voltage ( in volts)
The resulting tube voltage should be within ±10% of the voltage indicated in the user
interface.

7.5.2 Tube current (mA) measurement

Adjusting as repeating below steps to align ‘Ball phantom’ and rotating axis’ location.

1. By pushing ‘0°’ button, making perpendicular between rotating part and driving
part.
2. ‘SD-line jig’s line and ‘Ball phantom’s reference line need to be matched by
turning ‘Ball phantom’ stage’s knob and move ‘Ball phantom’s location.
3. ‘180°’s button need to be pressed and rotating part move to 180°.
4. If, at 0° location and 180° location, ‘SD-line jig’ is not on same location, on 0°
adjusted ‘Ball phantom’s reference line and at 180° location. ‘Ball phantom’s
reference line and ‘SD-line jig’s line that needs to be located by turning each
knob and locating them to the middle of ‘SD-line jig’s locations of 0° and 180°.
5. By repeating 1-4’s to reduce the error.

After steps of 1~5, ‘SD-line jig’ is located on machine’s rotating axis. On this
condition, according to <Figure 2.1.3.9>, by using ‘0°’, ‘90°’, ‘180°’ button, at each
degree’s location, ‘SD-line jig’s line is at ‘Ball phantom’s matching with appropriate
reference line and adjust chin-rest’s location and tighten chin-rest’s bolt. Then, need to
be caution to not move ‘Ball phantom’s knob.

<Figure 2.1.3.9> Fixing ‘Ball phantom’s location

After chin-rest is tightly fixed, again at ‘0°’, ‘90°’, ‘180°’ location, and checking ‘Ball
phantom’ and ‘SD-line jig’ are matching. If location is not matching, again chin-rest’s
bolt need to be unscrew and adjusted.

position. On Step2, ‘Ball phantom’ is installed on PAPAYA and click ‘Find Collimator
Offset’ button. After clicking button, the machine is automatically finding for
Collimator’s position by proceeding necessary steps and displays ‘Adult Panoramic
collimator position’s value. In this condition, click ‘Set Offset & Get Image’ button
then X-ray is exposed and display an image. Then distinguishing whether collimator’s
is good position by checking with left illustrated picture. If Collimator’s position is
well found, according to picture’s Good position, on image, by Collimator, X-ray’s
exposure’s limited area is almost same with left area and right area.

This is used to set cephalometric base angled and
1 5mm pin
reference position of 2nd collimator.
<Table 2.1.5.1> Preparations

The image on bottom side explains how to remove the covers ahead to calibration and
alignment.

- 29 - Installation Manual
Remove the top cover.
The position is marked with a red circle and remove the
screws to remove the cover and lift it up.

Remove the cover of the 2nd collimator. Remove the

screws on the red circle location Peel off the cover.

<Step1>

<Figure 2.1.5.2> Step1 – Setting of reference position of detector (Cephalometric)

Once all the preparations is ready, set the detector’s reference position. Use 5mm pin,
refer to <Figure 2.1.5.2>, to set detector position to the reference hole of cephalometric
base. When the detector is on the reference point, then remove the pin carefully. Click
‘Set current position’ button.

<Step2>

<Figure 2.1.5.3> Step2 – Alignment of 1st collimator’s position (Cephalometric)

Step2 is where to align 1st collimator position. Click ‘Find Collimator Offset’ button
then procedure will proceed automatically.
When automatic procedure is finished, then click ‘Set Offset & Get image’ button to
check 1st collimator is on proper position.

<Step3>

<Figure 2.1.5.4> Step3 – Alignment of Ear post and base(Cephalometric)

Step3 is a step to check whether X-ray and ear posts are on a straight line or not and to
align their to be on a straight line. The laser alignment also is performed in this step.
First, adjust the height of two ear posts so that they have same length, refer to <Figure
2.1.5.5>.

<Figure 2.1.5.5> Adjustment of Ear post’ height

- 33 - Installation Manual
<Figure 2.1.5.6> Adjustment of Cephalometric laser

Adjust laser position, refer to <Figure 2.1.5.6>.

Set ear posts and nasal positioner to Lateral direction and perform this below
procedure for alignment of base angle of cephalometric part.

1.Click ‘Confirm’ button

2.Click ‘Ready & Shot’ button when it is ready.
3.Select blue cross of ‘Select Cross’ combo box which is located under the image
window and click center of one of two ear posts.
4.Select yellow cross of ‘Select Cross’ combo box which is located under the
image window and click center of another one.
5.Determine it is Pass or Fail. If it failed , adjust base angle refer to <Figure
2.1.5.7> and repeat 1-5 until get Pass

<Step4>

<Figure 2.1.5.8> Step4 – 2nd Collimator alignment(Cephalometric)

Step 4 is for aligning 2nd collimator position exaclty.

Repeat this below procedure until get ‘Pass’

1.Click ‘Find Collimator Offset’ button to find 2nd collimator position

automatically.
2.Click ‘Set Offset & Get Image’ button to get an X-ray exposed image.
3.Figure out that the collimator has a right shape and is on a proper position. If it
has not a right shape or be sided. Then adjust 2nd collimator position to right
position, refer to the bottom-left image of <Figure 2.1.5.8>
4.Determine Pass/Fail. If it failed, repeat 1 -3.

Step5, performing the detector calibration. 'Auto' button to perform calibration

automatically. Make sure that the Dark Ref. Level value is 0, Bright1 is 200, Bright2 is
800 and press 'Auto' button.

<Step6>

<Figure 2.1.5.10> Step6 – Scan calibration/FFC Calibration (Cephalometric)

Step 6 performs FFC(Flat Field Correction) and Scan calibration to calibration 2nd
collimator position of scanning and to equalize brightness of cephalometric image.
First, set ear posts and nasal positioner to AP direction and click ‘Auto scan/FFC
calibration’ button, then procedure will proceed automatically.

<Step7>

<Figure 2.1.5.11> Step7 – Final image test(Cephalometric)

Step 7 is a step to test that whole steps for cephalometric calibration is performed well
until now.
First, set ear posts and nasal positioned to Lateral direction and click ‘Confirm’ button.
When it is ready then click ‘Ready & Shot’ button to take cephalometric image.
Determine, when the reconstruction is finished, whether there is a problem or not, refer
to right image of <Figure 2.1.5.11>.
If you find there is a problem on the image. Then refer to Appendix to find solution for
each problem case. And calibrate and align PAPAYA again by following the instruction.
And then do step7 again.
