Going to the Restaurant

W: Hello! So, have you made your choice? First of all, what drinks would you like?

C: So… er… We would like… two bottles of water. And two glasses of orange juice for the
children, please.

W: Very well. And for the main dish, what would you like to order?

C: Oh, we're still looking at the menu. Er… can you give us a minute, please… or… maybe
you have some suggestions?

W Of course. For the children, I recommend the chicken breasts, served with a side
dish of mashed potato. It's delicious, they will like it.

C: Perfect! And for my husband and me, what do you recommend?

W: Well, if you like meat, I can recommend our speciality: beef steak.

C: Yummy, that sounds appetising! So, we'll have two beef steaks with chips for the side dish.

W: OK. And what sauce would you like?

C: So…for my husband, the mixed herb sauce; and for me, the mushroom sauce, please.

W: [A little later] Is everything all right?

C: Not really, no…the children's mashed potato is cold! And we wanted two
different sauces but we were both served the mushroom sauce.

W: Oh, sorry…my apologies. I'll bring new dishes out straight away for the children.

C: That's very kind, but a plate of hot mashed potato will be fine, thank you.

W: Would you like to order a dessert or coffee to finish?

C: Oh yes, we would like four pieces of chocolate cake and two espresso coffees, but, er…
no milk. And could you bring us the bill afterwards, please?

W: Here's the bill. Would you like to pay in cash or by card?

C: By card, thanks.
