Pattern – Instructions are available at the end of the pattern
When crocheting a striped pumpkin, change color after each row in the turning stitch. If you carry the
yarn along within the stitches, you avoid having to weave in a lot of ends. 😊

NOTE: Turn by chaining 1 – It does not replace a stitch.


From the 2nd row and onwards, crochet in the back loop only.
The last stitch is worked through both loops of the stitch.

Small:
1. Ch 26. Turn your foundation ch. Work 1 sc in the 2nd ch s from the crochet hook. Work 1 sc in the
next 11 ch sts. Work 1 hdc in the next 11 ch sts. Work 1 sc in the last 2 ch sts.
From now on, work ONLY in the back loop (blo).
2. Turn by chaining 1. Work 1sc in the first 2 sts. Work 1 hdc in the next 11 sts. Work 1 sc in the last
12 sts.

3. Turn by chaining 1. Work 1sc in the first 12 sts. Work 1 hdc in the next 11 sts. Work 1 sc in the last
2 sts.

Repeat alternating between row 2 and 3 until you have 18 rows.

Stem:
1. Work a mr and work 6 sc into the ring. (6)
2. – 5.Work sc around. (6)
6. Work 2 sc in each s around. Finish with 1 ss.(12)
Leave a long yarn tail for assembly. Sew the stem onto the top of the pumpkin. Cut the yarn and weave
in the ends.

Large:
1. Ch 36. Turn your foundation ch. Work 1 sc in the 2. ch from the hook. Work 1 sc in the next 16 ch
sts. Work 1 hdc in the next 15 ch sts. Work 1 sc in the last 3 ch sts.
From now on, work ONLY in the back loop (blo).
2. Turn by chaining 1. Work 1 sc in the first 3 sts. Work 1 hdc in the next 15 sts. Work 1 sc in the last
17 sts.
3. Turn by chaining 1. Work 1 sc in the first 17 sts. Work 1 hdc in the next 15 sts. Work 1 sc in the last
3 sts.

Repeat alternating between row 2 and 3 until you have 24 rows in total.

Stem:
1. Work a mr and work 8 sc into the ring. (8)
2.-6. Work sc around. (8)
7. Work 2 sc in each s around. Finish with 1 ss. (16) Leave a long tail for assembly. Sew the stem onto
the top of the pumpkin. Cut the yarn and weave in ends.

Row 4 and onwards:

1. Repeat alternating between row 2 and 3 until


you have a total of 18 (24) rows.

Assembly:
Now, crochet the sides together.
This is done by crocheting through both loops on the front piece and through the back loop on the
back piece. Work ss around.
Now, you are going to sew the top of the pumpkin shut. Tack around the edge and pull the sts
together, so the hole is completely shut.
Weave in the end. Turn the inside out of the pumpkin back inside.
Stuff it and shape it. Tack around the edge of the bottom of the pumpkin and pull the sts together so
the hole is shut.
