the Pharmaceutical Industry

The primary role of Product Management in the pharmaceutical industry is to

Below are Roles Assigned to Product Management in the

Pharmaceutical Industry

 Mainly Providing training, product knowledge, direction to the field

cross-functional teams like medical affairs, learning and development

with market research and competitor analysis.

opportunities and growth for product sale.

target audience segment of the pharmaceutical industry, which are
healthcare professionals and hospitals.
 Motivating sales team members by organizing training camps, award
ceremonies, and recognition programs.

launch, and launch strategy and post-launch, new initiatives for product
growth strategy.
SWOT ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS

 Strong community base to provide consistent supply

 Products are inherently safe
 Smaller product development time ( 3-4 ) Year as compare to
conventional pharmaceutical company (10-15) year
 Low product development with better efficacy whereas pharma cost
runs in 100M dollar
 Scientific information available in various traditional manuscripts.

WEAKNESS

 Yield is nature dependent

 Alternative chemical method for production

CONCLUSION

 During my internship period I work as PMT, Since my company was a

start-up. And planning to launch its products related to herbal
cosmetics
 The main goal of the company was to focus on premium/ elite
customers of metro cities.
 I worked along with my team allotted, which focuses mainly on quality
of the products of concerned ingredients which is plan to be launched.
 As a PMT team we gone through market research with different
venders available for the ingredients as well as container, Tubes, bottles
( Plastics bottle , Dispenser, Pumps, Sprayers, Jars, etc.) along with the
packaging of products.
 I personally gone through a keen observation of the different
established brands working in Herbal Cosmetics, likes
 Himalaya, Khadi Naturals, Ayur Herbals, Vlcc, Biotique, Lotus Herbal,
Forest Essentials, Vadi Herbals, Patanjali Ayurveda, Mama Earth

 I observe the brand space occupying at certain stores, their market

representative, Brand message to customers, presentation at sores,
packaging materials and vehicle.
Recommendation

 I completely agreed with Dr.Devi prasad Shetty statement “if you want
to successfully acquire market of a country like India” ,try to focus on
market middle class “ you are winner” .
 I would personally suggest paxfi, in spite of targeting the premium
customer focus on the population of middle class of market, since we are
in era were everyone is concerned for consuming healthy and herbal.
 most common growing trend is vegan now adays. Even middle class is
also concerned to consume healthy but due to financial issues they may
stays behind in this race.
 paxfi as a young entrepreneur should also work for middle class
providing products at economical prices, which is the biggest market for
creating loyal costumer in India and putting itself as a successful brand.
 most of the people are farmer so we can also work as SHG like CCD
work to collect coffee directly from the field .
