Crocheted shoulder cape with popcorn stitches. Easy peasy and done in a few nights. This is a
very richly colored yarn, intensely purple. But don’t you deserve it? Nice to throw around your
shoulders for a little extra warmth, small enough to grab’n’go. Should drape nicely on the
shoulders with a little flirty flounce; secure at the neck with a shawl pin (or bamboo pin sorry,
that’s all I had handy!).
Special stitches used:
FSC: Foundation Single Crochet: Make a slip knot, insert the hook, ch 2. *Insert hook into
second chain from hook (this is the first chain made) yo, pull through ch (there are two loops on
the hook). yo, pull through first loop, yo, pull through both loops*. Repeat from * as noted in
pattern.
Popcorn (pc): yo, insert hook into stitch, pull up a loop; repeat 7 times in same stitch, then pull
look through all loops on hook.
Small Popcorn (smpc): yo, insert hook into stitch, pull up a loop; repeat 5 times in same stitch,
then pull look through all loops on hook.
Double crosses stitch: Skip next 2 dc, dc in third dc, 1 dc in 2nd of the skipped dcs, 1 dc in the
base of the 1st skipped dc.
Finished size: appx. 18” around the neck, appx. 84” around the hem edge, appx. 12” in length
after blocking.
