DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY FOR THE INFOGRAPHICS:

In this HIV infographic, various forms of transmission are shown, with a focus on four
main ones: transmission through blood, sexual transmission, sharing injecting equipment, and
maternal transmission. This is relevant to the module 1 concept of patterns. Each pattern is
vividly depicted, allowing readers to understand its importance in the overall transmission of
the infection. These visual cues, such as arrows showing the path of transmission, highlight the
complexity of HIV's spread.

Within the realm of mathematical language and symbols, in our infographic, the red
ribbon serves as a poignant representation of HIV cases. The color red indicates both passion
and urgency, indicating the necessity for quick action in dealing with the HIV epidemic. The
ribbon itself serves as a visual reminder, sparking conversations and raising awareness about
HIV prevention, support, and understanding. By prominently showing the red ribbon within the
infographic, we hope to elicit empathy, raise awareness, and motivate proactive engagement in
the fight against HIV.

To effectively combat the HIV epidemic, a structured approach that encourages problem-
solving and evaluation is required. We employ the Polya Problem Solving approach, which
provides a valuable framework comprised of four critical steps: understanding the problem,
devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and reflecting on the answer. The four steps of Polya
Problem Solving are illustrated in this infographic.

- To begin combating HIV instances, we held a meeting to look into the present level of
HIV cases, identify areas of concern, and set quantifiable goals for minimizing new
infections.
- Building upon the insights gained during the meeting phase, we formulate a
comprehensive plan. In this instance, the plan could include organizing a symposium
aimed at educating both youths and adults about HIV prevention, testing, and stigma
reduction.
- Following that, in carrying out the plan, we will hold a symposium. The symposium acts
as a forum for disseminating knowledge, stimulating dialogue, and promoting behavioral
change.
- Finally, following the symposium, it is critical to assess its impact and monitor the
progress made in reducing HIV cases. We use this to determine whether the goals stated
during the planning phase were met, identify areas for improvement, and apply
additional measures to maintain progress.

In HIV, data management is essential because it assures the gathering, organizing, and
preservation of correct and thorough data. For deciding the severity of the pandemic, finding
susceptible people, and creating successful measures, trustworthy data is crucial. To help
policymakers, healthcare professionals, and academics analyze trends, patterns, and areas of
concern, it enables evidence-based decision making. By finding high-prevalence demographics
and geographic regions of the Philippines and adapting treatments to their specific
requirements, effective data management enables targeted interventions. Additionally, it is
essential for distributing resources, guaranteeing the effective distribution of money, resources,
medical supplies, and staff. Data management enables HIV interventions to be checked and
evaluated, measuring their performance and making adjustments. Furthermore, it promotes
research and innovation by supplying trustworthy data for analysis, highlighting research gaps,
and encouraging collaboration to enhance HIV prevention and treatment.
The development of the virus inside the body is shown by the graph analogy in the HIV
life cycle. HIV enters the body via attaching to certain cells (nodes), such as CD4+ T cells. Within
these cells, it multiplies, producing fresh virus particles and spreading to infect further cells
(graph edges). The graph expands as more cells become infected as the virus spreads. Added
nodes in the body serve to symbolize the immunological response, but HIV can impair the
immune system by destroying these nodes. This causes the illness to advance toward AIDS.
Using this knowledge, treatment regimens may be created to stop the spread of the infection.
