A. Learning objectives

B. Material Description.
I. What is the meaning of Congratulations
Congratulations is an expression that is given as an award or
congratulation for an achievement in any case, including in
appreciating an achievement.
Congratulation sentences can also be said when someone is
accepted under certain conditions, such as being accepted at the
school of their dreams, being accepted for work, graduating from
an institution. This can increase one's enthusiasm and
performance in doing work and activities such as school and
others.
II.Text structure in the expression of congratulations
The use of congratulation depends on different contexts,
situations and conditions, but there are general patterns that we
can use in using the text.
Congratulations + to whom/whom + for what:

1. Congratulations to you on your graduation!

2. Congratulations to the winning team for their outstanding


performance! ;

Keep in mind that these structures are adaptable to specific
contexts and may change words or phrases that are relevant to the
achievement or event we wish to convey “ Congratulations” .

III. Language features Congratulations

Reading.

The phrase "congratulations" usually includes praise and


recognition of accomplishments. This can be reflected in the use
of words such as "good job", "nice", "great achievement", each
other.

Example:

Congratulations on your outstanding performance in the debate


competition! You did a fantastic job.

Expression of joy:

The phrase "congratulations" also reflects a sense of joy and


delight at one's accomplishments. The sentence can contain words
like "party", "happy", "excited" and the like. Example:

Congratulations! It`s time to celebrate your graduation and the


exciting journey n ey ahead.

positive meaning:

The phrase "congratulations" is inherently positive and uplifting.


It expresses sincerity and hope for the future.

Example:

Congratulations on your acceptance to the university! Wishing


you a bright and successful academic journey.
Formal and formal greetings :

"Congratulations" is often used in both official and formal


situations, such as a school function, award ceremony, or official
announcement. Therefore its usage follows more formal language
norms.

Example:

On behalf of the school, I extend my warmest congratulations to


all the graduates. You have reached an important milestone in
your academic journey.

Use in a different context:

Writing.

Let's read the congratulations text below so that at the next stage

Example 2

testament to your hard work, dedication and exceptional skills in
your profession. Your commitment to excellence and your ability

are a valuable asset to the team and I am confident that you will
excel in your new role. I wish you much success and fulfillment
in your career. Congratulations again!
Example 3

Congratulations on your excellent performance in the MLBB


competition! Your hard work, discipline, and perseverance paid
off and you showed off your exceptional skills and talents. Your
dedication to your sport is truly inspirational and you have made
our school/community proud. May this victory be the springboard
for even greater success in your sporting journey. Once again,
congratulations on this amazing achievement!

From the three examples above, students are expected to be able


to understand the purpose of the text. Next, students are asked to
make a congratulations text like the example above with the
theme that has been prepared.

Speaking.

In the following, students are asked to practice using the


congratulations text together with other students.

Students are asked to say the congratulations text to their desk


mates or friends who are next to them, for this below there is
already a congratulations text that students can practice with their
desk mates or those who are next to them.

yesterday, you are great. With skill and hard work, you
deserve it. Congratulations again!

Next, the teacher will read the congratulations text and explain the
grammar contained in the text. That way students can learn to

Grammar

The text contains some grammar that we can find as follows:

1. Tenses:

"Congratulations on turning" uses the present participle to denote


an action that is currently in progress.

"Today is a day to celebrate" uses the present simple to state a


general fact.

You" is used as the second person singular to refer to the person's


birthday

3. . Prepositions:

For the next after students have listened to and understood some
of the elements in grammar, students are invited to rewrite the
contents of the congratulations text which will be read by the
teacher.

After the teacher reads the text, the student's task is to listen
carefully and then rewrite the contents of the text that the teacher
has just read.

continue to grow with enthusiasm.

It is the teacher's job to accompany their students to continue to


grow and develop in learning, constructive sentences such as the
congratulations text really help students because students need
something called appreciation for what they have achieved.

In this chapter there are 4 elements which include reading,


writing, listening, and grammar.

We hope that by making this module it can help the teaching and
learning process carried out at school and outside of school in
improving or educating children throughout Indonesia.
