1. Describe the academic accomplishment (major paper, science experiment, and artistic
project) you are most proud of, and explain why you take pride in it. Describe in detail the
preparation you undertook, the particular tasks you executed, and the outcomes you achieved.
Ans: I derive immense satisfaction from all my tasks related to Economics and Business. For me,
there are different ways of creatively expressing myself. When a task is given to me I take it as
a challenge and I give my maximum effort to finish that task in a given period. Talking about
academic accomplishments, I was admitted to Scholastica in grade 4 (2014), and since then I
gradually noticed significant improvements in my academics and extracurricular activities. I was
awarded an honors certificate in grade 4 and received high Honors in O-levels.
However, my most prized academic accomplishment was getting an honors certificate in
AS-level and scoring A’s in Economics and Business. It was not a smooth path as we faced the
deadly coronavirus when were in grade 9. Since then things changed and we saw our close
relatives pass away the physical and mental pressure we went through was immense but still,
my ambition for success and a bright future kept me stable through the harsh times and I can’t
thank enough my parents who gave their all to see a smile in our face. I used my free time to
study International Business and read a lot of books. I am proud of this achievement because, in
the beginning, it was a nightmare for us when we heard our exams will be physical and I was
very scared as I will be giving my first board exam. So what I did was seek help from my sibling
and my teachers. As I started to complete the given tasks by the school I saw huge
improvements in my confidence level because my teachers gave me the feedback I needed, and
this helped me to come back on track in a few weeks. I practiced question papers day and night
to improve my time management and format of writing the answers. And by the grace of Allah,
I got an Honors certificate and I am grateful that Allah guided me to the right path.
2. What kind of learner are you? Provide examples that show how you learn and that
demonstrate your academic strengths. For example, describe academic settings or assignments
in which you thrived and demonstrated academic strengths such as analytical skills, creativity,
complex problem-solving, communication skills, critical thinking, etc.
Ans: I consider myself a social and interpersonal learner. I mostly prefer learning in
environments where a lot of interaction is going on between a teacher and students. This really
helps me to gather a lot of information in a short period of time. As different students have
different ways of thinking, this helps me to understand a topic further. A class full of interaction
is far better than studying alone when you cannot focus on what you are doing. I also love to
use a simple trick when I sit to study myself which is using a highlighter to mark the important
contents of a topic. This makes learning more easier and helps when an exam is near. In
addition to that, I also make notes of the contents which are taught in the school and this
makes my learning process a much more indulged one.
