    A stool examination was performed on a 32 year old patient. The stool was brown and semi-formed with no blood or mucus present. Under microscopic examination, pus cells were between 2-4 per high power field within the normal range of 0-5, and red blood cells were between 1-3 per high power field also within the normal range of 0-5. No eggs, Giardia lamblia, or Entamoeba histolytica were found. Undigested vegetable fibers and starch were present, but no other abnormalities were noted.
