How to Write a Perfect Paragraph

Topic sentence:
 What is the topic sentence? The topic sentence is the first sentence in a paragraph.
 What does it do? It introduces the main idea of the paragraph.
 How do I write one? Summarize the main idea of your paragraph. Make clear what your
paragraph will be about.

Supporting details:
 What are supporting sentences? They come after the topic sentence, making up the
body of a paragraph.
 What do they do? They give details to develop and support the main idea of the
paragraph.
 How do I write them? You should give supporting facts, details, and examples.
Closing sentence:
 What is the closing sentence? The closing sentence is the last sentence in a paragraph.
 What does it do? It restates the main idea of your paragraph.
 How do I write one? Restate the main idea of the paragraph using different words.

My future
Topic Sentence:
When I grow up, I want to be a vet, because I like animals.

Supporting details:
1. My favorite subject is biology.
2. When I leave school, I think I will work at The Zoo.
2. I will learn how to cure animals.
3. Later, I think I will graduate from college.
4. I don’t want to get married too soon, I think I will wait until I am 30.
5. I hope my partner will be kind.
6. I think I will live in a big city.

Closing sentence:
To conclude, I hope in the future I will take care of nature and a lot of animals.

Complete Paragraph:

My Future

When I grow up, I want to be a vet, because I like animals. My favorite subject is biology. When I
leave school, I think I will work at The Zoo. I will learn how to cure animals. Later, I think I will
graduate from college. I don’t want to get married too soon, I think I will wait until I am 30. I hope

Assignment

Write a paragraph using the simple future tense. The paragraph must contain a topic sentence,
supporting details, and a closing sentence. It's important to use at least seven times (7) the modal
auxiliary will or the ‘’be going to’’. It can be the length of your preference. Below you can find a list
of ideas to write your paragraph. Also, you can use different ones.
