sources.

Leigh Jeremy C. Respicio introduced the following resolution which was referred to the
Committee on Women and Gender Equality

Resolved by the Republic of the Philippines, that the following article is proposed as
democratic law under the jurisdiction of the Republic of the Philippines, enforceable by
Executive action.

“Be it enacted by the Filipino Youth and House of Representatives of the Republic of the
Philippines in Congress assembled, that:”

"PROPOSE A LAW”
Section 1: Separate queues for women and men in all establishments, private and public.

Section 2: Declaration of Policy (The purpose of this law is to provide protection for women
from/against sexual advances made by men and other sources like touching deliberately on
their bodies and on their sensitive/private parts(chancing).

Section 3: Definition of Terms


 Sexual advances – Includes a wide range of verbal and physical conduct and in some
cases, they may include such statements as asking for a date or making uninvited
remarks about your body.
 Chancing – To happen or to do something by chance.
 Establishments – Shop, business, or organization occupying a particular building or
place.

Section 4: Responsible Agency (Agency of the government that is responsible


for the implementation of this law the CHR (Commission on Human Rights)

Section 5: Mandate (The commission is mandated to conduct investigations on human rights


violations against marginalized and vulnerable sectors of society, involving civil and political
rights).

Section 6: Implementing Rules (Implementing this law shall be in accordance of the


Implementing Rules and Regulations of Article 2 Section 14 of the Philippines constitution
and its provisions).

Section 7: Separability Clause (If, in any case, a provision in this law shall be invalid, or
deemed unconstitutional, the legality and implementation of the remaining provisions shall not
in any way be affected and the law shall continue to be in force).

Section 8: Repealing Clause (Any repeal and amendment of the foregoing provisions of this
law shall not affect any rights or protection of any individual or person in respect of any act or
omission occurring prior to the time of such repeal or amendment).

Section 9: Effectivity Clause (This law shall take effect upon its approval. It will be announced
in all forms of media communications).
APPLICATION AND ASSESSMENT

Myth 1: Women aren’t good in leading the country because they can’t control their temper.
Explanation: Women are now being empowered through trainings and seminars/workshops
on leadership. The Philippines had even two presidents lead the country namely Pres. Corazon
Aquino and Pres. Gloria Arroyo.

Myth 2: Male are more competent than female that’s why male are capable as business
executives.
Explanation: Women nowadays are being hired as CEOs, and school principals, elected into
public office, and are given similar tasks with men.

Myth 3: Male are decision makers in the family.


Explanation: men are now also attending couples’ seminars, especially in their religious
organizations they belong. Men are now more educated to seek the perceptions of their wives
before they make family decisions.

Myth 4: LGBTQ++ are creation of modern age and it is only a trend.


Explanation: Long before the 20th century, LGBTQ has already been present. It was even
mentioned in the bible. It is not a trend.
