 Two talented disciples from respected clans meet during their

youth and form a close affinity, only to be separated by dire
circumstances. Sixteen years later, can they unravel the
tragedy of the past to solve the mysteries of the present?
 Sixteen years ago, the cultivation world was ruled over by five
clans: Gusu Lan, Yunmeng Jiang, Qinghe Nie, Qishan Wen, and
Lanling Jin. The carefree Wei Wuxian becomes fast friends with
the righteous Lan Wangji, and during their adventures, the pair
find out that the head of the Wen clan is the evil mastermind
behind a series of plots that would wreak havoc upon the lands.
Wei Wuxian's attempts to protect the innocent members of the
Wen clan from unfair persecution leads to disaster, and he
passes away in the process. Wei Wuxian reappears sixteen
years later, and works together with good friend Lan Wangji to
solve a series of murder mysteries, eventually finding and
defeating the true culprit.
 The Untamed is a fantasy story set in ancient China about two
young paladins who are completely opposite in character. In
flashbacks we see them as antagonistic class mates. One is a
charming bad boy who can't abide by the rules. The other is the
serene and shining example of wuxia manhood. Their
relationship is marked by teasing and annoying incidents untill
they find themselves entangled in a bloody power struggle
between the clans. They stick together untill bad boy becomes
an infamous demonologist, and he gets hunted down by all
clans. The 'good one' is forced to get in line with his clan,
unable to save his friend from a tragical death. For mysterious
reasons the bad boy returns 16 years later, apparently
unharmed. They reunite, joining forces to solve the mystery
behind the evil events in their past. Both discover that people
aren't always what they seem, including themselves.
