observations, and an analysis of the percentage of student interests and hobbies based
on the data we have collected. Furthermore, we will also discuss the implications of
these findings in the context of education and student development at our school.

We hope that this paper will provide valuable insights for the readers, especially
educators, in their efforts to improve education approaches that align with students'

INTRODUCTION

1. 2 Background Issue
The background of the issue regarding the percentage of hobbies in a class is highly
relevant in today's educational landscape. Every student possesses different interests
and talents, and identifying the extent to which these interests are reflected within a
class can assist educators and schools in designing a more effective learning
experience, improving student motivation, fostering talent development, and creating

DISCUSSION

2. 3 Reseach Design
This research employs a mixed-methods approach, utilizing both quantitative and
qualitative methods to comprehensively explore and understand student interests and
hobbies in our school environment. By combining these approaches, we aim to
achieve a more nuanced and holistic perspective on the topic

2. 3 Definition
Hobby is a term that encompasses a wide range of recreational and leisure activities
pursued by individuals in their free time. It is a passion-driven pursuit characterized
by personal interest and enjoyment rather than external obligations or financial gain.
Hobbies can take many forms, from creative and artistic endeavors such as painting,
playing musical instruments, or crafting, to more physically active interests like
sports, hiking, or gardening. Essentially, hobbies are activities that people engage in
voluntarily to relax, unwind, and fulfill their personal interests and passions.

Hobbies often serve as a means of personal expression and self-discovery. They

provide individuals with an outlet for their creativity, allowing them to explore and
develop new skills and talents. Engaging in hobbies can have a positive impact on
one's mental and emotional well-being, as they offer a break from the daily grind and
provide a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Hobbies also offer opportunities
for social interaction, as individuals with similar interests often come together to
share experiences, exchange ideas, and form communities centered around their
chosen activities.

4
Furthermore, hobbies can serve as a valuable source of balance in life. They offer a
reprieve from the demands of work or academic responsibilities and provide
individuals with a sense of purpose outside of their daily routines. In some cases,
hobbies can even lead to career opportunities or become lifelong passions that bring a
deep sense of fulfillment. In essence, hobbies are a reflection of one's unique interests
and can greatly enrich the quality of life by adding depth, joy, and a sense of purpose
to it.

2. 3 Data Analysis
Everyone has hobbies, and on this occasion, we conducted a survey among 12th
grade TKJ 1 students about their hobbies. We provided severol hobby options such as
sports, cooking, and arts, and the data we gathered is as follows:

Hobby Number of Respondent

Cooking 9
Arts 5

From the data, it is evident that out of 32 respondent from 12th grade TKJ 1 a
majority of them have a hobby related to sports, followed by an interest in the
cooking, and arts. Based on the data above, here are the persentage:

 Persentage of sports hobby = 18/32 * 100% = 56,25%

 Persentage of cooking hobby = 9/32 * 100% = 28,125%
 Persentage of arts hobby = 5/32 * 100% = 15,625%

We’ve already asked one of the student in the class who chese sports as their hobby,
