2. 3 Definition
Hobby is a term that encompasses a wide range of recreational and leisure activities
pursued by individuals in their free time. It is a passion-driven pursuit characterized
by personal interest and enjoyment rather than external obligations or financial gain.
Hobbies can take many forms, from creative and artistic endeavors such as painting,
playing musical instruments, or crafting, to more physically active interests like
sports, hiking, or gardening. Essentially, hobbies are activities that people engage in
voluntarily to relax, unwind, and fulfill their personal interests and passions.

Furthermore, hobbies can serve as a valuable source of balance in life. They offer a
reprieve from the demands of work or academic responsibilities and provide
individuals with a sense of purpose outside of their daily routines. In some cases,
hobbies can even lead to career opportunities or become lifelong passions that bring a
deep sense of fulfillment. In essence, hobbies are a reflection of one's unique interests
and can greatly enrich the quality of life by adding depth, joy, and a sense of purpose
to it.
