OPTIMIZED INPUT TASK

1. THE 2 INPUT MODES

Spread cutting with optimized input task

To save time, this option makes it possible to continue to input instructions for future jobs while the
machine cuts.

• Two windows for monitoring the activity:

= POSITIONING /
CUTTING

• Entering cutting instructions = Adding jobs

to a list of jobs

Reminder: Spread cutting with successive phases

• Only one window for monitoring the activity:

To duplicate an existing job:

1. Select the job.

1. Click on to reload it in the left part of the screen.

2. Click on to exist the modification mode: the same data are still displayed in the left part.
3. Make modifications if necessary.

4. Click on to add the new job to the end of the list.

Validate the job suggested by the software.

The usual positioning steps are then suggested.

If the job suggested is not the proper one:

1. Return to the input screen.

2. Modify the order of jobs on the list in such a way as to bring into first position the next job to be cut.
3. Return to the Positioning/Cutting monitoring screen.

4. Click on .

5. HANDLE A COMBINED SPREAD AS AN OPTIMIZED INPUT TASK

Combined spreads: Spread including several markers with or without the same number of plies for
each, with the ability to set specific parameters for each marker.

5.2 Input process

If several markers must be cut on the same spread, you must describe a job for each marker.
1. Designate the file to be cut.

2. Choose the sets of parameters.

3. Input the spread reference.
4. Check the marker gap value.

The spread reference must be entered, since it enables the software to identify the markers which are cut on the
same spread.

5.3 Positioning process

According to the way the Activity has been defined by the Methods Technician, there are 2 ways to
handle the marking of a combined spread:
- The markers are handled one by one by the cutting software, with each marker associated
with it sets of parameters.
For the first file in the spread the positioning phase is mandatory.
For the next files, there are 3 possibilities described by the 3 first examples in this paragraph.

New feature in VectorPilot V3R1.

- All markers are loaded simultaneously and everything is handled as a single file to cut.
Even if the input lets you associate specific parameters with each marker, there are
restrictions on the application of these parameters: this case is shown in the final example at
the end of this paragraph.

Example 1: No intermediate positioning (except if there is an error)

In this case, the next job is started without any validation request. The position and width of the
spread are retained, the marker gap value is used to position the next marker zero.

Full positioning:
tool checking
material description
display material zero
Spread alignment control
etc.

marker gap

If an error occurs during loading of the next marker, the automatic cycle is stopped. To resume cutting of this marker,
a full positioning will be proposed.

Example 2: Partial intermediate Positioning

Only the Display material or marker zero step is executed. The Check tools stage is offered if a
new tool has to be installed for the next file.
Full positioning:
tool checking
material description
display material zero
Spread alignment control
etc.

Partial positioning:
display material zero

If, during a partial positioning you use the key or an error occurs, the partial positioning automatically turns
into a full positioning.

Simultaneous loading of all markers in the combined spread

New feature in VectorPilot V3R1.

Markers with the same spread reference are handled as a batch:

- When positioning is launched, all the markers in the batch are loaded by the cutting software.
- The cutting strategy considers the whole cut as a single file to be cut.
- The single positioning takes the entire spread into account.
- No intermediate positioning is ever offered.
- Restrictions on the use of different sets of parameters

Different sets of All the Requirements are respected except the label format.
