Subject: Mathematics Grade: 9 ,10 Marks: 10

Title of the project: Water Park Project Using Linear Equations

Topics

1. Model a Water Park to find the slope, midpoint, distance, and equation of the line between
2 items.

2. To design a Water Park using Linear equations graphically.

3. Optimization problem-To minimize the area including all the items.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. To apply the concepts of linear equation and equation of straight lines in Real life.

2. To present the project algebraically or graphically.

Skills used to do the project:

Creating Innovating Evaluating Analyzing Problem solving

Presentation:
• Choose any one topic from the above list
• Each student should submit the Project individually.
• Project must include – Introduction to the problem, problem-solving skill and methodology
applied and result represented mathematically or graphically.
• Present your work as a Photo-essay on a 3-fold poster as given in the sample image below
or any other interesting way.
Time frame: October 31st, 2023

Expected Outcomes of the project:

Students will be able to apply the concepts of Linear Equation and Straight line graphs in Real life.

Procedure:

• Plot the given items on a graph paper.

• Record the ordered pairs of each item.
• Join the items using straight lines and find out the gradient.
• Find out the midpoint of these straight lines.
• Measure the distance of the lines.
• Frame the linear equations for the lines on the graph.
