Technical Write-up on Colmonoy 6 NiCr-C material

General Information on NiCr-C

The nickel-chromium-boron alloys were developed by the Wall Colmonoy Corporation and are better known by
the Wall Colmonoy tradenames Colmonoy 4, 5 and 6. Other manufacturers produce the alloys as well, for
example, Stoody Deloro Stellite under the trade names Deloro 40, 50, and 60 (not directly equivalent). There is an
AWS classification for the alloys which is also adopted by ASME. The classification is SFA 5.13 RNiCr-C. These
alloys were developed primarily for their abrasion and galling resistance. Fisher has used them successfully in
sliding stem products for a combination of galling, abrasive wear and erosion resistance, often in feedwater
applications which produce erosion corrosion in CoCr-A and other cobalt-containing materials.

Cast versions of these materials are also available.

Corrosion Resistance of NiCr-C

Nickel-chromium-boron alloys resist corrosion in all environments. These alloys are suitable substitutes for
CoCr-A in nuclear and fossil fuel power plant applications because they have very low cobalt content. Fisher
has used them successfully in sliding stem products for a combination of galling, abrasive wear and erosion
resistance, often in feedwater applications which produce erosion corrosion in CoCr-A and other cobalt-
containing materials

We herewith confirm that he offered material of Colmonoy6 is superior in properties as

the hardness is approx. close to 60 HRC and is better compared to solid Alloy6 and
Inc625+TiCr for the offered scope of supply and service conditions. Moreover the
offered grade is in compliance with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156
Since the offered trim with this grade are Micro port design the welding or hardfacing is
not a feasible method.

Though this grade is very special and not rarely used,we confirm that we have supplied
this Colmonoy grade 6 for some of severe applications and functioning successfully.
