Activity 2
1. Geothermal energy is the energy that comes from the heat of Earth’s interior.
2. Through the use of Geothermal Power Plants and Geothermal Heat Pumps.
3. Bacon, Sorsogon and Tiwi, Albay and Calaca, Laguna.
4. Hot water with high pressure is pumped from a well, then, when the water reaches the
surface, pressure releases and it causes the water to turn into steam. As the steam grows,
it turns into a turbine which is linked to a generator that produces energy. All of this is
connected to a cooling tower which serves as a cooler for the steam. As the steam cools
down, it condenses back to water. The cooled water is poured back to Earth then the
process reoccurs.
