Like a comet yearning for a shorter orbit around a star,

A Fathers heart aches from a distance near and far,

His soul, aching with a longing so bizarre,
Waiting for their destines to align no matter how far,

Like a shore waiting for the waves,

In solitude he stands in the depth of his caves,
Dreaming of the moment she will be in his embrace,
He will endure an eternity for a glimpse of her face,

Like a cracked ground waiting for Rain,

His eyes bear the drought of her absence, the pain,
In the desert of life a lonely domain,
But he will keep faith be it Sunshine or Rain

Like a horizon waiting for the sun to rise over it,

He waits for her love for her warmth to permit,
Through the darkest of nights he will never quit,
For that moment he will patiently sit,

Though the wait may seem endless and the tears will flow,
He will endure whatever that may follow,
For the day she is in his arms, he will gladly bestow,
A life time of love in every moment they know,
