sukoon on it) until a strong tone or echo of the letter is heard. The Arabic letters of
(‫ ق‬,‫ ط‬,‫ ب‬,‫ ج‬,‫ )د‬five are Qalqalah
The Rule: For any of these letters to have Qalqalah it must be silent (have a sukoon
on it) or when stopping at it, such as ‫تب‬.

Ans-2: There are two types of Qalqalah:

1- Kubrah (major)
If the qalqalah letters appears at the end of a word and the reader stops on it (for
whatever reason), the qalqalah sound is at its clearest /strongest

2- Sughrah (miner)
The qalqalah letters appear either in the middle or end of a word, but the reader will
continue the recitation and will not stop on it.In that case the qalqalah will be miner.

Examples:
• 3- Pronounce the silent letter ‫ب‬. State what you have felt when you did that.
• Try to pronounce the rest of letters.
