Punctuation and Grammar Practice Quiz II
Rewrite the following sentences in the spaces provided. Each sentence contains between
one and three errors. Watch out for apostrophe errors, comma errors, sentence
fragments, and run-on sentences.

1.) Bram Stoker, an Irish theatrical agent, who wrote Dracula. One of the most iconic
horror novels of all time.

2.) I love the passage in which, Jonathan Harker, sees Dracula crawling down the side
of his’ castle.

3.) Its my favourite part of the book. Because it is so chilling and evocative.

4.) I also like the scene in which Harker encounters the Brides of Dracula and just
about falls under the womens’ spell.

5.) From a modern perspective, many of the event’s in the novel are quite humorous,
for example, Lucy receives blood transfusions from four different men.

6.) In real life, receiving blood from Seward, Arthur, Quincey, and Van Helsing, would
probably have killed poor, Lucy.

7.) Also, most of Van Helsing’s speeches are hilariously, melodramatic so, it is hard to
take the character seriously.

8.) Stokers novel has inspired, countless films, television programs, and books.
9.) One of the most popular of these work’s is Anne Rice’s novel, Interview with the
Vampire.

10.) Explores a number of the sexual, and psychological themes that Stoker introduced
in Dracula.

11.) When Louis, Rice’s protagonist contemplates immortality. He experiences a period


of existential angst.

12.) Unlike his’ melancholy companion, Lestat enjoys being a vampire he does not
devote much time to introspection.

13.) A more recent addition to vampire lore. The cult television series, Buffy the
Vampire Slayer.

14.) The series showcases Buffy’s supernatural powers, her keen intellect and her clever
sense of humour.

15.) Buffys quips’ are surprisingly sophisticated, she often makes allusions to works of
literature.

16.) Describing a tardy friend, Buffy remarks “The girl makes Godot look punctual.” A
reference to Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett.
