PROJECT WORK – 2023-2024


Instructions :
1. Each project is allotted a maximum of 20 marks.
2. Writing work should not exceed 10 pages (A4 size).
3. Present the matter with proper introduction, explanation and conclusion.
4. It should be in your own handwriting and should be neat and legible.
5. Writing work should be on one side of the sheet and paste the relevant pictures or
photographs on the other side with title or caption.
6. Use proper paragraphs to present your concepts clearly.
1. ENGLISH – I  Attempt any one of the given topics.
 Assignment should be of 1000 words.

 Significant lines, phrases, quotes should be highlighted.
1. Write a story of your own with the theme: “In my deep sleep, I
heard a loud voice at the door”.
2. Express your views for or against the following statement :
‘Only people who earn a lot of money are said to be successful
today.’
3. Preparations for an event are more enjoyable than the event
itself. Narrate your experiences to bring out the truth of this
statement.
4. Narrate an encounter with a celebrity whom you admire and
always wished to meet.
5. Express your views either for or against the following
statement: ‘Playing games on the mobile phone is a stress
buster.’
2. ENGLISH – II  Choose any two topics.
 Assignments should be of 750-800 words each.
 Significant lines, phrases, quotes should be highlighted.
 Stick minimum four relevant pictures.

2. Write about contributions of William Shakespeare to English
Literature.
3. Watch the movie ‘Kabuliwala’ (Hindi version) based on the
original story written by Rabindranath Tagore. Write your

writer, to English literature.
5. Critically analyze the poem ‘Naming of cats’ by T.S. Eliot.

11. ECONOMIC  Candidates will require to do a minimum of four
APPLICATION assignments during the year, as assigned.
1. Identify 100 consumers of major brands of edible oils in a
locality / area where you live. Draw up the pattern of their
monthly expenditure on this product and compare it with the
other household expenditure. Make a presentation of your
findings in class.
2. Identify the major brands of bathing soaps that are available in
the market in your area. Select a sample of 10 shops /
department stores that sell these brands and collect the sales of
these brands over a period of one week at these shops. Identify
the brands that sell the most and make a presentation for your
class.
3. Make a presentation on the central problems an economy faces.
Explain these with reference to the Indian economy.
4. Take a developed country such as the USA and a developing
country such as India. Analyse the main characteristics of these
economies.
5. Outline the main modes of transport in the district / city you
live. What problems do you and other citizens face pertaining to
the availability of public transport? Analyze.
6. Take a table of foodgrain production in India from any textbook
on Indian economy or any other secondary source such as
internet. Interpret the changes in the production over a given
period of time.
7. Given a table of population growth for period between 1971
and 2001 and table of contribution of agriculture, industry and
services sector for the same period, compare the two tables and
present your finds in the form of a presentation.
8. Make a presentation of the major trading partners of India in
the last 15 years. Specify the major changes that have taken
