CAPACITOR
Capacitor ? Is a device used to store electric charge in electric circuit .consisting of one ore more pairs
of conductors separated by an insulator.

Capacitance ?is the ratio of charge in an electric charge in a system to the corresponding charge in it’s
electric potential.

SI unit of capacitance is FARADS (F)

FACTORS AFFECTING CAPACITANCE

1. Area of plate .this is when the larger the area of the plate the larger the ability of the capacitor
to store charge.
2. Distance between two plate.the closer or decrease of the distance between two plate the larger
ability of the capacitor to store charge.
3. The ability of dielectric to support electrostatic force or dielectric used between
plate.capacitance is directly proportional to electrostatic force.dielectric materials rated based
upon the ability to support electrostatic force in terms of number called dielectric constant.the
higher the dielectric constant the larger the ability to support electrostatic force .therefore ,the
increase of dielectric constant the increase in capacitance
STATE THE PRINCIPLES OF THE FOLLOWING
1. CHARGE
The simply charger works to supply constant DC or pulsed DC power source to a battery being
charged. Simply charger typically dose not alter it’s output based on charging time or to the change
on the battery.
2. CHARGING A CAPACITOR
Capacitor works on the principle that the capacitance of a conductor increase appreciably when
earthed conductor brought near it.
3. DISCHARGINGE THE CAPACITOR.
A charge flows from one plate to the other through a resistor the charge neutralized ,so the current
falls and the the rate of decrease of potential difference also falls
