PART I – CONSTRUCTION PREPARATION

1.0 AWARDING OF CONTRACT

1.1 MOBILIZATION

1.1.1 Upon the issuance and received of Notice to Proceed (NTP), the
Contractor may start their Day 1 mobilization on the site, survey
and inspection of the site condition will be included.
1.1.2 The Contractor shall prepare and submit all necessary
documentation and attachments required for the project. All the
required Staff, Manpower, Materials, Tools and Equipment shall
be established.
1.1.3 The Contractor may then request for an area/staging for their Site
Office, Warehouse and Barracks if allowed and readily available
on the site area in preparation for the mobilization of the Staff
and Workers of the Contractor.
1.1.4 The contractor may also seek the help of the General Contractor
all the requirements needed in relation to Staff, Workers,
Materials, Tools and Equipment mobilization in the site.

2.0 PROCUREMENT OF MATERIALS

2.1 APPROVAL AND PURCHASING MATERIALS

2.1.1 FDPY shall submit first a technical data/ brochure of all required
materials to be used in the project based on the technical
specification of Sanitary/Plumbing or alternative as an approved
equal.
2.1.2 Upon the approval of the brochure, there should be a submittal
of a physical sample of materials, in the case of heavy samples
such valves, devices or equipment, it should be coordinated to
the Const. Management as to where the sample will be
presented and delivered.
2.1.3 Soon as this two (2) items stated above were approved,
procurement of materials will be followed.
2.1.4 Canvassing of materials as to cost, specification and availability
is concerned will be the matter for purchasing the materials.
2.1.5 A mother Purchase Order(P.O) will be issued by FDPY to the
supplier to ensure price will not be escalated until the materials
will be fully ordered and the stock of materials is at any time
available based on the required quantity by the
Contractor(FDPY).
2.2 DELIVERY OF MATERIALS

2.2.1 All materials to be delivered on site shall be new, free from dust
and oil. All materials to be delivered on site shall be new, free from

2.2.2 The Contractor (FDPY) shall schedule the delivery of their


materials and shall notify the Gen-con. and owner representative
the date of delivery to secure a possible access and the
area/location for loading and unloading of the materials.

2.2.3 QC Engineer for both FDPY, DLBI, PMCSI should always be present
during deliver of materials to properly checked and inspect the
materials based on the approved technical data and the
specification of materials. QC Engineer shall accomplish a record
all information and documents attached on the materials
delivery, there should be an attached delivery receipt or sales
invoice of the supplier including mill certificate and other related
certificate required.

2.2.4 In the event that heavy materials, devices and equipment will be
delivered, the Contractor shall inform the Gen-con. thru written
letter if there is a need of the Contractor of Heavy Equipment or
Tower Crane or any assistance from Gen-con. that they can
provide to Contractor prior to schedule of delivery of materials.

2.2.5 For the Owner Supplied Materials (OSM) such as straight pipes,
plumbing fixtures and accessories, pumps, controllers, and others,
the Contractor shall coordinate to the Owner's representative or
either to PMCSI regarding supplier's information and contact
person for proper coordination prior to schedule of deliveries.
There should be written request for the OSM delivery of materials
based on the Contractor requirements and schedule of
installation. The Contractor will also request an area or location
for storage and securing the OSM materials.
PART II – ROUGHING-IN WORKS

1.0 HANGERS, BRACKET AND SUPPORT

1.1 PREPARATION

1.1.1 It must have be a submittal of sample and approval of what type


and class of support of hanger, bracket and support to be used
before installing it depending on the type and size of the pipes.
1.1.2 Purchasing and fabrication of hanger, bracket and support
should be based on the approved type.
1.1.3 For pipes with covered insulation, fabrication of hanger, bracket
and support should have an allowance based on the thickness
of insulation materials to be used on the pipe that are being
insulated.

1.2 SURVEY/ LAYOUT

1.2.1 FDPY should survey the area and the location of hanger, bracket
and support should be based on the location and elevation of
the installed pipes.
1.2.2 Marking and layout should always be consider in drilling on the
slab soffit, beam and on wall make sure that there will be no
embedded works shall be damaged to other trade contractor.

1.3 MANNER OF INSTALLATION

1.3.1 After marking of the location of support drilling will be next step
and by using a power driven rotary drill, there should be a
marking on the drill bit to control the deep penetration of drill bit
on the slab, wall and beam as per required depth of expansion
shield to be used.
1.3.2 Expansion shield shall be inserted on hole provided by, and full
thread hanger rod shall be used for the flexibility of elevation
adjustment of installed pipes
1.3.3 Distances and spacing of hanger support shall depend on the
prescribed specification, it varies the size and spacing of support
on the type, class and size of the pipes.
1.3.4 Installation should be checked if alignment and levelness, or the
required slope were already complied. Adjustment of support
should be rectified to meet and achieve the satisfaction of
quality of work.
1.4 INSPECTION AND CHECKING

1.4.1 FDPY QC Engineer shall conduct an internal checking and


inspection for the following condition upon installation has been
done.
1.4.2 Tightness and firmness of installed piping should be checked.
1.4.3 Dimension such as distance from vert. reference line and on y -
axis, height and elevation from the reference line, straightness
and alignment including plumbness shall be consider in checking
the installed support.
1.4.4 Required bolt, nut and washer for hanger and bracket support,
painting and hanger rod alignment should thoroughly be
inspected and checked.
1.4.5 Upon internal inspection have been done, the QC Engineer of
FDPY shall request for inspection to be attended by DLBI-QC and
PMCSI. A joint inspection shall be conducted to secure an
approval for work we have done.

2.0 INSTALLATION OF VERTICAL PIPES

2.1 PREPARATION

2.1.1 All pipes to be installed shall be new and cleaned from dust, oil
and should be painted with anti-corrosion paint if required by the
materials as per technical specifications.
2.1.2 Pipes should be cut straight to eliminate misalignment prior to
installation of joint connection of pipes.
2.1.3 Tools and equipment shall be prepared and available including
other related accessories.

2.2 SURVEY/LAYOUT

2.2.1 Survey and layout should be in accordance with the approved


shop drawings/CSD in installing pipes.
2.2.2 Marking and layout of hanger and support should always be
consider in drilling on the slab soffit, beam and on wall, make sure
that there will be no embedded works shall be damaged to other
trade contractor.
2.2.3 Provide a marking/layout of vertical alignment by using plum bob
to maintain straightness of the vertical pipes as the pipes goes
higher.
2.3 MANNER OF INSTALLATION

2.3.1 Upon marking of the location of piping layout, vertical pipe


should be temporary supported by heavy duty nylon ropes or
chain block in erecting the vertical pipes.
2.3.2 Connection of joint of pipes shall be by solvent cement type for
PVC pipe, flange or welded joint for G.I.Pipes and B.I. Pipes or
threaded type for smaller pipes, caulking with oakum and epoxy
sealant for C.I. Pipes bell & spigot, coupling connector for hubless
C.I. Pipes and fusion type connection for PPR Pipes.
2.3.3 Thread pipes shall be treated with Teflon tape on threaded
portion of the pipes as a standard procedure of piping threaded
connection pipes.
2.3.4 After installing and erecting the vertical pipes, bracket support
shall immediately install to hold and fix the pipes before removing
the temporary support.
2.3.5 Insulation shall install before installing the bracket and hanger
support for those pipes with insulation.
2.3.6 Distances and spacing of hanger and bracket support shall varies
depending on the size and type of pipes.
2.3.7 Installation should be checked if alignment and levelness, or the
required slope were already complied.
2.3.8 Adjustment of support should be rectified to meet and achieve
the satisfaction of quality of work.

2.4 INSPECTION AND CHECKING

2.4.1 FDPY QC Engineer shall conduct an internal checking and


inspection for the following condition upon installation has been
done based on the approved shop drawings.
2.4.2 Tightness and firmness of installed piping should be checked.
Dimension such as distance from vert. reference line and on y -
axis, height and elevation from the reference line, straightness
and alignment including plumbness shall be consider in checking
the installed pipes and support.
2.4.3 Required hanger and bracket support, cover protection,
painting works and sleeving if required should thoroughly be
inspected and checked.
2.4.4 Upon internal inspection have been done, the QC Engineer of
FDPY shall request for inspection to be attended by DLBI-QC and
PMCSI. A joint inspection shall be conducted to secure an
approval for work we have done.
3.0 INSTALLATION OF HORIZONTAL PIPES

3.1 PREPARATION

3.1.1 All pipes to be installed shall be new and cleaned from dust, oil
and should be painted with anti-corrosion paint if required by the
materials as per technical specifications.
3.1.2 Pipes should be cut straight to eliminate misalignment prior to
installation of joint connection of pipes.
3.1.3 Tools and equipment shall be prepared and available including
other related accessories

3.2 SURVEY/LAYOUT

3.2.1 Survey and layout should be in accordance with the approved


shop drawings/CSD in installing pipes.
3.2.2 Marking and layout should always be consider in drilling on the
slab soffit, beam and on wall make sure that there will be no
embedded works shall be damaged to other trade contractor.
3.2.3 Layout of the location of horizontal pipes should provide a nylon
rope tied to the extended and furthest point where the pipe will
end so that straightness and alignment of horizontal pipes shall
maintain before the installation of pipes shall execute.
3.2.4 This will serves as also for the layout and location of hanger and
bracket support of the horizontal pipes.

3.3 MANNER OF INSTALLATION

3.3.1 Upon marking of the location of piping layout , horizontal pipe


should be temporary supported by heavy duty nylon ropes or
chain block for heavy pipes and shall install first the angular
bracket support to hold and rest the pipes on the angular
bracket before installing the horizontal pipes.
3.3.2 Connection of joint of pipes shall be by solvent cement type for
PVC pipe, flange or welded joint for G.I.Pipes and B.I. Pipes or
threaded type for smaller pipes, caulking with oakum and epoxy
sealant for C.I. Pipes bell & spigot, coupling connector for hubless
C.I. Pipes and fusion type connection for PPR Pipes.
3.3.3 Thread pipes shall be treated with Teflon tape on threaded
portion of the pipes as a standard procedure of piping threaded
connection pipes.
3.3.4 After installing the horizontal pipes, U-bolt support and hanger
shall immediately install to hold and fix the pipes before removing
the temporary support.
3.3.5 Insulation shall install before installing the bracket and hanger
support for those pipes with insulation.
3.3.6 Distances and spacing of hanger and bracket support shall varies
depending on the size and type of pipes.
3.3.7 Installation should be checked if alignment and levelness, or the
required slope were already complied.
3.3.8 Adjustment of support should be rectified to meet and achieve
the satisfaction of quality of work.

3.4 INSPECTION AND CHECKING

3.4.1 FDPY QC Engineer shall conduct an internal checking and


inspection for the following condition upon installation has been
done based on the approved shop drawings.
3.4.2 Tightness and firmness of installed piping should be checked.
3.4.3 Installation of pipes shall inspected and analyzed based on the
approved drawings of piping layout.
3.4.4 Dimension such as distance from vert. reference line and on y -
axis, height and elevation from the reference line, straightness
and alignment including plumbness shall be consider in checking
the installed pipes and support.
3.4.5 Required hanger and bracket support, cover protection,
painting works and sleeving if required should thoroughly be
inspected and checked.
3.4.6 Upon internal inspection have been done, the QC Engineer of
FDPY shall request for inspection to be attended by DLBI-QC and
PMCSI. A joint inspection shall be conducted to secure an
approval for work we have done.

4.0 INSTALLATION OF EMBEDDED PIPES ON CHB AND PRE-CAST WALL

4.1 PREPARATION

4.1.1 All pipes before installation has to be done were new and
cleaned from dust, oil and should be painted with anti-corrosion
paint if required by the materials as per technical specifications.
4.1.2 Pipes should be cut straight to eliminate misalignment prior to
installation of joint connection of pipes.
4.1.3 Tools and equipment shall be prepared and available including
other related accessories.
4.1.4 Piping works must be assembled for pre-cast wall prior to
concrete pouring.

4.2 SURVEY/LAYOUT

4.2.1 FDPY should conduct a survey if reference line and elevation


were already marked and established on the particular area and
floor. This will serves as a guide in installing embedded pipe as per
required dimension and distances of plumbing fixtures stub-outs
and other equipment requirements.
4.2.2 Layout of embedded pipes should be marked on wall or on slab
based on the approved shop drawings and in accordance with
required plumbing fixtures and equipment dimension and
distances.
4.2.3 Architectural finishing works shall also be consider in marking the
layout of embedded pipes.

4.3 MANNER OF INSTALLATION

4.3.1 Chipping of walls or slab has to be accomplished before installing


embedded pipes. In chipping works, the marking line layout on
wall or slab should cut first as a guide using concrete cutter to
maintain and eliminate any unnecessary breaking of CHB wall or
concrete and chipping works.
4.3.2 After cutting guide has been done on wall or slab, chipping of
wall or slab will the next step to do by using ball hammer and
chisel until the required depth and width of embedded pipes has
been achieved.
4.3.3 Pipes or assembled pipe shall be installed according to
dimension, distances and approved shop drawings.
4.3.4 Embedded pipes shall be provided with support by either with
concrete nail at both side of the pipes tied by G.I. wire or by
plastered cement at certain portion of the piping layout just to
hold and support and to maintain the embedded piping layout.
4.3.5 Stub-out location and distances should be based on the
approved plumbing fixtures and equipment.
4.3.6 All open pipes fittings and stub-outs should provide with plug and
covered to protect from clogging of pipes due to loose plaster
cement materials and others which may cause the clogging.
4.3.7 Make sure that embedded pipes should be pressure and leak
tested and approved before restoration and plastering of wall or
slab shall be made.
4.3.8 Application of fire stop sealant for sleeve on wall and final
painting shall be applied after approved hydro static pressure
and leak testing has been approved.

4.4 INSPECTION AND CHECKING

4.4.1 FDPY QC Engineer shall conduct an internal checking and


inspection for the following condition upon installation has been
done based on the approved shop drawings.
4.4.2 Tightness and firmness of installed piping should be checked.
4.4.3 Installation of pipes shall inspected and analyzed based on the
approved drawings of piping layout.
4.4.4 Dimension such as distance from vert. reference line and on y -
axis, height and elevation from the reference line, straightness
and alignment including plumbness shall be consider in checking
the installed pipes and support.
4.4.5 Stub-out location and distances should be carefully checked
based on the approved plumbing fixtures and equipment.
4.4.6 Required hanger and bracket support, cover protection,
painting works and sleeving if required should thoroughly be
inspected and checked.
4.4.7 Upon internal inspection have been done, the QC Engineer of
FDPY shall request for inspection to be attended by DLBI-QC and
PMCSI. A joint inspection shall be conducted to secure an
approval for work we have done.

5.0 TESTING OF VERTICAL PIPES

5.1 GRAVITY AND LEAK TEST OF SEWER, WASTE, VENT, AIRCON, PARKING DRAIN,
PLANTERS DRAIN STACK

5.1.1 Testing of vertical pipes shall be by stages or by segments, tree


(3) floors or up five (5) floors per segment or per stage will be the
ways of testing of vertical pipes to closely monitor any possible
leak that may occur during testing period.
5.1.2 All open pipes and stub-outs of pipes shall be checked and shall
be closed and covered before filling up of water shall be done.
5.1.3 Pipe hanger, bracket and support shall also be checked and
inspected to ensure that it is properly installed and fixed and no
support were missed to install.
5.1.4 Pipes should be plugged on the lowest end part of the vertical
pipes and should be with temporary support to hold the weight
of water and the pressure due to gravity. The plug to be used shall
be provided with drain valve for draining of water.
5.1.5 The upper part of end pipe shall be left open to monitor and
record if any drop of water will occur while conducting a testing.
5.1.6 Upon complying all the above items 6.1.1 - 6.1.5, vertical pipes
shall be filled up with water gradually by using a garden or water
hose directly place on the opening of the pipes to avoid spilling
of water.
5.1.7 During filling up water it should be properly monitor by the
assigned person at least every two (2) floors so that if leak occurs
and pin pointed it will be immediately reported and the testing
shall respectively stopped and rectification and repair shall be
done prior to next re-testing.
5.1.8 If re-testing found to be no leak filling up of water should continue
until it reaches to a certain desired level of water on the upper
end part of the pipe.
5.1.9 The desired level of water should be marked by marking pen or
any marking instrument and observed level of water for at least
two (2) hrs.
5.1.10 Upon observing the level of water for more than two (2) hours if
no drop of level of water were observed, FDPY shall request for
an inspection together with the written testing form to schedule
to witness the conducted gravity testing of the contractor.
5.1.11 The first reading of water level should be recorded on the testing
form by the witness or inspector on both FDPY, and DLBI/PMCSI
with the corresponding time, the second reading and witness will
be after two (2) hours lapsed. The same procedure has to be
followed as the 1st reading recorded.
5.1.12 If the testing were approved and witnessed, FDPY shall secure the
written testing approval signed by the witnesses FDPY, DLBI, and
PMCSI representative.
5.1.13 After securing the approval of testing, water should be drain
using the drain valve of the covered plug connected to a garden
or water hose directly to nearest drain pipe or by using drums to
release the water.

5.2 HYDRO STATIC PRESSURE AND LEAK TEST OF COLD WATER RISER AND COLD
WATER DOWNFEED

5.2.1 Testing of vertical pipes shall be by stages or by segments, five(5)


floors or up ten(10) floors per segment or per stage will be the
ways of testing of vertical pipes to closely monitor any possible
leak that may occur during testing period.
5.2.2 All open pipes and stub-outs of pipes shall be checked and shall
be closed with plug and covered before fill up of water shall be
done.
5.2.3 Pipe hanger, bracket and support shall also be checked and
inspected to ensure that it is properly installed and fixed and no
support were missed to install.
5.2.4 Pipes should be plugged on the lowest end part of the vertical
pipes and should be with temporary support to hold the weight
of water and the pressure due to gravity. The plug to be used shall
be provided with drain valve for draining of water.
5.2.5 The upper part of end pipe shall be left open to monitor and
record if any drop of water will occur while conducting a testing.
5.2.6 Upon complying all the above items 5.2.1 - 5.2.5, vertical pipes
shall be filled up with water gradually by using a garden hose or
water hose directly place on the opening of the pipes to avoid
spilling of water.
5.2.7 Pipes should be filled up with water, soon as the water reaches
the upper end part of vertical pipes then it should be plugged
with a provision for the connection of test pump.
5.2.8 The next step to fill up the pipes with water will be the use of
electric motor driven test pump to achieve the required pressure
test rating as per technical specifications 150 PSIG Minimum
Working Pressure.
5.2.9 During filling up water it should be properly monitor by the
assigned person at least every two (2) floors so that if leak occurs
and pin pointed it will be immediately reported and the testing
shall respectively stopped and rectification and repair shall be
done prior to next re-testing.
5.2.10 If re-testing found to be no leak filling up of water should continue
until it reaches to a certain desired level of water on the upper
end part of the pipe.
5.2.11 The desired level of water should be marked by marking pen or
any marking instrument and observed level of water for at least
two (2) hrs.
5.2.12 Upon observing the level of water for more than two (2) hours if
no drop of level of water were observed, FDPY shall request for
an inspection together with the written testing form to schedule
to witness the conducted gravity testing of the contractor.
5.2.13 The first reading of water level should be recorded on the testing
form by the witness or inspector on both FDPY, and DLBI/PMCSI
with the corresponding time, the second reading and witness will
be after two (2) hours lapsed. The same procedure has to be
followed as the 1st reading recorded.
5.2.14 If the testing were approved and witnessed, FDPY shall secure the
written testing approval signed by the witnesses FDPY, DLBI, and
PMCSI representative.
5.2.15 After securing the approval of testing, water should be drain
using the drain valve of the covered plug connected to a garden
hose or water hose directly to nearest drain pipe or by using
drums to release the water.

6.0 TESTING OF HORIZONTAL PIPES

6.1 LEAK TEST OF SEWER, WASTE, AIRCON, PARKING DRAIN & PLANTERS DRAIN

6.1.1 All open pipes and stub-outs of pipes shall be checked and shall
be closed and covered before filling up of water shall be done.
6.1.2 Pipe hanger, bracket and support shall also be checked and
inspected to ensure that it is properly installed and fixed and no
support were missed to install.
6.1.3 Pipes should be plugged on the lowest end part of the vertical
pipes and should be with temporary support to hold the weight
of water and the pressure due to gravity. The plug to be used shall

6.1.12 After securing the approval of testing, water should be drain
using the drain valve of the covered plug connected to a garden
hose or water hose directly to nearest drain pipe or by using
drums to release the water.
6.1.13 Flow test for all underground piping.

7.0 APPLICATION OF FIRE STOP SEALANT

7.1 PREPARATION

7.1.1 Fire Stop Sealant to be used shall the approved type of technical
data and physical sample.
7.1.2 All pipe sleeve should be free and clean from any rubbish and
loose concrete to received proper application sealant.
7.1.3 Tools and other related accessories shall be prepared and
available, always provide rugs or cloth for wiping and cleaning
of any loosed sealant.

7.2 SURVEY/LAYOUT

7.2.1 Before applying fire stop sealant make sure that survey has been
observed if the area and pipes sleeve are ready to received
sealant.
7.2.2 Make sure that all the installed pipes were tested and approved
to avoid removal of sealant due to leaks and repair works of
pipes.
7.2.3 All pipe sleeve should be 50 mm above from finished floor level
as indicated technical specification and treated with fire stop
sealant.

7.3 MANNER OF INSTALLATION

7.3.1 Application of fire stop sealant in the pipe sleeve shall be at least
1/2" thick on the outer part of pipe sleeve at both ends.
7.3.2 Inside of the pipe sleeve shall be caulk with approved materials
such as oakum or foam before applying a fire stop sealant.
7.3.3 Fire stop sealant shall pressed by using sealant gun and shall
directly apply to the surface of sleeve.
7.3.4 All loosed sealant should be cleaned and wiped by cloth or rug
to achieved quality of work as far as application of sealant is
concerned.

7.4 INSPECTION AND CHECKING

7.4.1 FDPY QC Engineer shall conduct an internal checking and


inspection for the following condition upon application has been
done.
7.4.2 Checked how fire stop sealant were being applied at both end
of the sleeve and the workmanship.
7.4.3 Make sure that all pipe sleeve were treated with fire stop sealant
as per indicated on specs and detail.
7.4.4 Upon internal inspection have been done, the QC Engineer of
FDPY shall request for inspection to be attended by DLBI-QC and
PMCSI. A joint inspection shall be conducted to secure an
approval for work we have done.
8.0 APPLICATION OF PAINTING

8.1 PREPARATION

8.1.1 Painting of pipes and the color code shall be in accordance with
the technical specification of Sanitary and Plumbing works of
contract package.
8.1.2 Tools and other related accessories shall be prepared and
available, always provide rugs or cloth for wiping and cleaning
of any loosed sealant unwanted and loosed paint.

8.2 MANNER OF INSTALLATION

8.2.1 All pipes should cleaned before applying the final paint.
8.2.2 Application of paint shall be in two (2) coated of final paint.
8.2.3 All loosed and unwanted paint should be cleaned and wiped by
cloth or rug to achieved quality of work as far as painting works is
concerned.

8.3 INSPECTION AND CHECKING

8.3.1 FDPY QC Engineer shall conduct an internal checking and


inspection for the following condition upon application has been
done.
8.3.2 Checked if the application of paint were equally applied on
outer circumference of the pipes.
8.3.3 Make sure that all pipes were treated and received with paint as
per required on the technical code and specifications.
8.3.4 Upon internal inspection have been done, the QC Engineer of
FDPY shall request for inspection to be attended by DLBI-QC and
PMCSI. A joint inspection shall be conducted to secure an
approval for work we have done.
