Is Martin Luther King a good role model

In this Essay I will be giving my opinion and arguments on why Martin Luther King jr. is a good role
model.

Firstly, Matrin Luther King jr. was not afraid to break the rules for good causes. He commited civil
disobedience multiple times, by starting protests and more while fighting for civil rights having been
jailed 29 times in his lifetime. This argument can be seen in two ways. One the one hand, since
Martin Luther King’s actions were considered criminal under the law of that time had committed a
lot of crimes in his time it would make him seem like a bad role model. H, however it shouldn’t be
ignored that the police had been significantly harsher on Martin Luther King and had imprisoned him
at any chance they got, due to the fact, that he was fighting for equality between races and civil
rights and despite the fact that he was using a non-violent approach. On the other hand martin
Lutherit made King risked his life to fight forseem persistantpersistent to help with the equality
between races and persevered in doing so even from jailto the point where he risked his life for it,
inspiring others to also fight for equality and the end of racial segregation. A fight which today would
be considered a fight for basic human rights..

Martin Luther King was also very brave, since in his time few people dared to risk their lives for
equality. He was one of the few people in his time that made a difference and his work led to the end
of segregation and racial discrimination. His effort and determination definetelydefinitely show how
committed King was to end segregation.

In conclusion, Martin Luther King, despite his ways of raising awareness having been illegal, is
definietely a good role model for teens and grown-ups alike. He may have had a criminal recordan
illegal history, but at the time civil disobedience it was his only way of communicating a very
important message. Should you break the laws like he did in his time to get to your objective? In
most cases, no. But should you strive to be like him, to see everyone as equals and fight for equal
riights? Definietely.
