WHAT IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF ART?

What do you think is the highest form of art? Why?

We all know that art is subjective, it is open for a lot of interpretations. That's
why the answer to this primary question varies individually. Kasi, every piece of
art should be evaluated on its own individual value and beauty, amusement, or
whatever else you look for in art.
This really depends on our perceptions.
However, there is a category of art in academics where it will it says a lot na for
it to be considered a "high art" it should contains types and styles of painting,
sculpture, music, and literature.
Conversely, there is also a term called, "low art" which often contains things like
photography, crafts, folk art, and any various pop forms.
Most people are aware of a distinction between high and low art. High art is
appreciated by those with the most cultivated taste. On the other hand, low art is
for the masses, because it is accessible and easily comprehended.
Because of this concept, ang nangyayari, naapektuhan nito kung paano makipag
interact yung mga tao when it comes to arts.
People who feel strongly that high art is good and low art is bad will think of low
art as something to be avoided. Some would even consider a poor classical piece
better than a great rock song, simply because the classical piece is considered a
higher style.
Just like what Ma'am Ara said from our previous discussion. Social class has a
significant influence in how we perceived art. Because we can be influenced by how
we were raised and on how we were exposed to.
But if I were to answer the question, for me, the highest form of art is something
so beautiful and so well made that it transcends words and even ideas to become
something else, and that is something inspiring.

Hierarchy of arts:
Talks about the reality where art and arts communities exist within societal and
economic hierarchies.
Meaning, hierarchies and power hold significant influence over artists, the
artistic process, and the societies that consume art.
In here, different authors have expressed opposite views on this matter.
Kant says that music is the lowest of all arts, for it gives only sensible
pleasure. According to Schopenhauer, how- ever, music is the greatest of all arts,
the "liberator-art," for music is capable of freeing man from his fears and from
his ignoble desires, from his anger and despair, and from other passions and
anxieties. Hegel believes that poetry has the best qualities of other arts:
immediate perception, creative imagination, development of thoughts and events.
Leibnitz thought that the greatest hu- man expression in arts was possible by the
fusion of poetry and music as in the final act of the Ninth symphony, of Beetho-
ven.

1. Immanuel Kant: Music is the lowest of all arts because it gives only sensible
pleasure
To sum up: It is true that Kant did not think highly of music.
Immanuel Kant's low esteem for music as an art as compared to philosophy and the
visual arts emanates from his lack of appreciation of musical forms and consequent
lack of in-depth knowledge of musical theory. Kant regarded music as incapable of
permanently imparting beauty as compared to the other arts. For him, music was, at
best, agreeable to some degree. Furthermore, Kant criticized music's fleetingness
and incapability to provide sustained pleasure.

2. Schopenhauer; Music is the greatest because it is capable of freeing man from

his fears and desires, from his anger and despair, and from other passions and
anxieties
On the other hand,
According to Schopenhauer, how- ever, music is the greatest of all arts, for music
is capable of freeing man from his fears and from his ignoble desires, from his
anger and despair, and from other passions and anxieties.

Schopenhauer was the one who judged music using his philosophy of the world. He
considered music to be the greatest of all artforms. And today his theories are
very interesting and logically consistent.
For him music is the highest form of expression.
Other art forms often speak of shadows, but music always speaks of the actual
things.
Music is often labelled a “universal language,” and according to the philosopher
Arthur Schopenhauer, there is a good reason for that.
This was because, in his eyes, music was not a copy of what he believed to be a
higher truth but a direct manifestation of it. When we listen to music, we are able
to lose track of ourselves, and in doing so, become free from the struggles of our
daily lives.
So, regardless of whether you prefer to listen to classical symphonies or hardcore
techno, there is something about music as a medium that resonates with us on a
deeper personal level.

3. Hegel: Poetry has the best qualities like immediate perception, creative
imagination, development of thoughts and events
Poetry does not mean just the highest literary form but the creative power which
animates every form of art. Poetry is the highest form of literature because it is
an art of writing history. Poems are the soul and the unspoken feelings of the
author. It is a deep way of conveying emotions through putting it in a metaphorical
line.
Culturally, poetry is used in varied ways. Haikus, for example, juxtapose images of
the everyday, while lyric poetry expresses the personal and emotional.

4. Leibnitz: The fusion of poetry and music is the highest art

Traditional artworks, such as paintings and sculptures, for example, are witnessed
and appreciated through our sense of sight. Music, on the other hand, is enjoyed by
hearing the melody and listening intently to the meaningful lyrics.
At a glance, it’s apparent that art and music appeal to different senses. But a
closer look will reveal that they, in fact, share a connection and are intertwined
in more ways than one. In a sense, art and music feed off of each other and
complement each other to create a more meaningful, reflective, and emotional
experience for the beholder.
They say that music is a form of art. And for many reasons, they are correct. Art
and music share a deep connection, owing to their similar elements.
Both music and art have the power to unlock an emotional response from its
listeners or viewers.
Thus, there is no final manner by which a hierarchy of the arts may be established.
Each has his own value.
