Task 2: Some students take a gap year after graduating high school to work and/or

travel. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this.

In many parts of the world, youngsters recently have a tendency to take a gap year before
enrolling in college, to work or travel across the world. From my perspective, this trend
had various advantages as well disadvantages. This essay will discuss both sides.

On the other hand, there are two crucial merits for students who travel or work prior to
their university education. To begin with, taking some time off to explore the world is that
gives them an opportunity to expand their worldwide horizons. It means that, when
students take a trip to dissimilar areas over the world, they will get exposed to different
cultures and customs, have a chance to meet diverse ethnic group, and understand
concerned global issues. On top of that, those choosing work before entering university
will tend to significantly appreciate the value of the money and have less of a financial
burden. This is due to the fact that they will realize how difficult it is to work hard to earn
money, as a result, individuals start to save more while making purchases, which also
assist them build up a saving account for future aspirations.

On the other hand, there are some drawbacks when students take a gap year for their
purposes. The first issue is that traveling might be terrible for their emotional and mental
health. This is because those students will have to allocate (phân bổ) a massive amount of
time away from their family and close friends while traveling, which means they may miss
them and feel homesick. Additionally, young working adults might give up to go back to
school. One explanation for this is that youngsters begin to enjoy earning money and
become financially independent, which leads them to assume they are no longer required
to study. If this is the case, it could have an impact on their entire career because a degree
is now required in order to compete in the employment market.

In conclusion, while taking some time off studying to explore the world may sound like a
good idea for people who have just finished school, I strongly believe that the
disadvantages that it brings are more substantial.

The chart below shows the expenditure on three categories among different age
groups of residents in the UK in 2004.
The provided chart demonstrates the expenditure of different age groups of UK citizens
under three categories in 2004.

Overall, the data reveals that the food and drink demand increased with age. Additionally,
the highest expenses among age groups also were observed in the food and beverage
category, followed by restaurant and hotel expenses and entertainment.
As can be seen from the chart, relating to food and drink data, those aged 76 and older
incurred the highest expenditures, approximately 23% of the total amount. Noticeably,
people who were aged 61 to 75 accounted for 20% (one fifth) of total expenditures for
food and drink, which was four times higher than the spending of people under the age of
30 (5%).

Look at the chart for more details, the age group under 30 spent the most on restaurants
and hotels (14% of the total), while the 61-75 age group had the lowest expense (2% of the
total). On the other hand, the proportion of total spending devoted to amusement was
lowest for those under 30 and greatest for those 61 to 75, at 23% and 7%, respectively.

The graph below shows the average house prices in 3 countries between the years
1997-2014.
The given line graph
demonstrates the average
house cost in three
different countries over
the period of 17 years,
starting in 1997.

Overall, there was an

upward trend that could
be seen among the
figures for house prices
of 3 countries. In addition,
while country C recorded
the lowest figure over the
period, this was opposite
to that of country A.

To begin with, in 1997, the house prices in country A were approximately $145k, which
was slightly higher than that of country B (around $125k). Relating to country A’ s house
prices, this figure experienced a significant increase to more than $500k during the first 6
years. Following that, after declining to nearly $400k in 2006, the house cost in country A
rose dramatically to reach the highest point of $625k in 2014. Meanwhile, the average
property price in country B witnessed a marginal growth to $375k by 2005, dropping to
nearly $250k by 2008, and then soaring to $500k in the last years.

Look at the chart for more details, in the first year, the house price in country C was
roughly $125k, followed by a gradual recovery to $250k until 2007. After 1 year, this
figure fell to $125k, then climbed steadily until 2013 before decreasing to around $260k.

Đề bài: Process (how alumini cans recycled).

The provided diagram demonstrates the main stages involved in how aluminum cans are
recycled.

As illustrated in the picture, there are 5 key steps in the aluminum cans recycling process,
starting with collecting discarded cans from households’ bins and finishing with new cans
produced.
To begin with, these used cans are gathered from various sources in preparation primarily
to supply materials for recycling. After being collected, these cans are then delivered to a
processing facility where they experience cleaning, sorting, shredding, and compressing
into little pieces. At the following stage, these handled cans are heated at high
temperatures and melted to transform aluminum into liquid.

After being heated, the aluminum is

solidified and flattened into separate
rolls with thicknesses ranging from 2.5
to 6 mm. Following that, this rolled-up
aluminum is shaped into new recycled
cans, which are returned for use in the
end. It is a fact that 74% of the
aluminum cans consumed in the UK
are recycled.

The plans below show how the ground of a particular building has changed over
time. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features.
The given maps depict the alternatives which take place on a ground floor of a specific
building during three distinct periods.

Overall, although the ground floor has been constantly adapted to serve three different
purposes of use, including office, apartment, and flower shop at each stage, the kitchen
area and the main entrance remain unchanged over time.

Between 1958 and 1984, the ground floor served as an office space. To be specific, a
restroom was constructed to the left of the entrance, followed by two offices for secretaries
and assistants. Additionally, a meeting room was built at the far end of the ground floor.
Meanwhile, a manager's office was located midway between the reception area and the
kitchen.

During the next 16 years, the ground floor was renovated to turn into an apartment. In
more detail, the manager's office and the reception were merged to create two bedrooms
situated in front of the main entrance. On the other side, two offices are demolished to
make way/ pave the way for the improvement of the toilet and then transformed into a
large bathroom and shower. In addition, the meeting room was converted into a living
room, which was greatly extended.

At present, the ground floor was upgraded to become a flower shop. The previous
bathroom and shower were replaced by a play area to the left side of the entrance.
Noticeably, the gift cards storage place was erected, which was earlier the living room and
two bedrooms were put in place of a new office. Moreover, the entire space to the left and
right was reserved for flowers.

More and more people no longer read newspaper or watch TV programs to get news.
They get news about the world through the Internet. Is this a positive or negative
development?

It is a fact that, in this day and age, individuals do not prioritize reading newspapers and
watching TV shows when they want to broaden their horizons. Alternatively, people tend
to rely more on the Internet to get international news. From my perspective, this
phenomenon brings a positive effect to society.

To begin with, the convenience and diverse entries of accessing news via the Internet are
remarkably beneficial aspects. The reader can select topics that interest them, such as
sports, politics, and more. Additionally, there is no limitation to where you can research
news. For instance, consumers can quickly access global information by clicking the
bottom of their preferred websites, such as BBC or CNN, which present the general public
with more accurate conceptions. On top of that, the news on the internet may also be seen
as a collection, with a wide range of topics and dates. This exposes us to a wide range of
knowledge and widens our horizons.

On the other hand, observing news on the Internet is also economical and environmentally
friendly. The internet offers a variety of free news sources, including news websites, social
media, and blogs, in contrast to conventional newspapers and television shows, which rely
on subscription fees or advertisements to stay in business. We may now access news
content online for free or at a significant discount instead of buying physical copies of
newspapers or paying for cable or satellite TV subscriptions. We not only save money by
doing this, but we also use less paper and energy, resulting in a smaller carbon footprint,
which lessens our influence on the environment.

In conclusion, as a way of getting news, the internet has multiple advantages whether it
can save time and money or contribute to our open mind.
