C.ADHERENCE MEASURES:
Honourable Department of School Education & Literacy [Pre University] has given us 5 days
Training and arranged 5 days Workshop on Blue print and question paper.
RUBRICS have been adhering to the chapters as well as question paper which appeared as follows.
1. SCIENTIFICALLY DESIGNED/ TECHNICALLY SOLVED:
a. Strictly followed the instructions of trainers regarding LOTS and HOTS
[Lower Order Thinking & Higher Order Thinking]
b. Bloom’s taxonomy - Objectives [Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyse,
Evaluate and Creative]. While setting questions on MCQ, VSA, SA and LA.
c. Competency based questions are referred to with cognitive skills.
d. MCQ having reliable options and only textual choices should be given.
2. CLASSIFICATIONS:
a. The period allotment decision is made up as per the department prescribed units.
b. Ratio between 120 periods and 80marks.
c. 13/14 units / content in Workbook and 10 elements/ units in Course book.
d. Weight age is precedence as for allotted periods for respective units.
3. CHOICES ARE ORDERLY ORGANIZED:
• Whereas Previous question paper Total marks -125: max. Marks-100.
• New / Present question paper Total marks -102: max. Marks -80.
4. AS PER THE GUIDELINES OF DEPARTMENT, UNIFORMITY AMONG ALL LANGUAGES FOR
THE FIRST 20 MARKS IS FOLLOWED:
a. MCQ - 10M.
b. Filling Blanks - 5M.
c. Match the following - 5M.
d. Remaining questions are referred to old/ before -2023 question papers.
5. STUDENTS AND LECTURERS FRIENDLY

a. Out of 6 poems 4 - SAQ & 1 - LAQ [2ND PU] & out of 5 poems 4- SAQ 1 LAQ[1ST PU] must be chosen.
b. Out of 7 prose units 6- SAQ must be chosen.
c. One from poetry and 1 Drama specifically chosen to LAQ.
d. This made student friendly because one can attend all 6 questions with in 8 units
e. Pronominal Words [reference] tagged to the passage itself.(shifted from last question no. 34 to 25)
f. Grammatical elements must be chosen from specified units only.& Equally reduced1 mark in each topic.

i. Passive forms: 3 marks to 2 i. Auxiliary verbs /subject verb agreement
ii. Linkers: 4 marks to 3 ii. main verbs/ tenses
iii. Reported Speech: 5 marks to 4 iii. Articles
iv. Complete the dialogue: 4 marks to 3 iv. preposition
v. These questions to be set on Contextualised only
vi. Ought to write these elements at the specified chapter’s title/ heading.
g. Left out topics from grammatical elements can be used in project works or assignments as if it's relevant.
h. Reported Speech, linkers, and passive forms are necessarily represented as directed by the old text book
committee members and senior lecturers.
6. ISSUES ON NEW TYPE OF QUESTIONS:
a. ‘Match the following’- it is introduced as recommended by the department.
i. But its better and students friendly, because the answers appeared directly.
ii. b. Competency based questions were not introduced previously. But it’s essential as
iii. on current competitive world.
c. Rubrics have been prepared adhering to the guidelines laid down as per National Curriculum
iv. Frame work- 2005, Bloom's taxonomy - Objectives and according to Resource Persons.
D.RETIONALE TO BE FOLLOWED IN THE QUESTION PAPER
SECTION I: - 1 to 10. MCQ:
• This should contain 3 questions on and 7 on prose including play
• Care should be taken to see that only one answer is possible in options.
• Questions shall be framed in both types ‘assertive form and interrogative form
• Competency based questions (2or 3) choose from: 2, 5,7,12 prose units only.

FILLING THE BLANKS:
• These questions are mandatory to follow the specified units & only Contextualised.
11. PASSIVE FORMS -2 [paragraph shall indicate the Tense]
12. LINKERS – 3 [carefully follow the punctuation marks]
13. MATCH THE FOLLOWING: 5 Sub Questions
▪ These questions must be chosen from the units which shall not be set SA & LA questions- 2
▪ Expressions/phrases-meanings- 2 from prose & 1 from poetry.[2+2+1=5]
SECTION II- 14 TO 23 [80 TO 100 WORDS ANSWER]
• 10 questions are to be set in this section.
• 4 shall be set on poetry and
• 6 on prose units.
• 6 out of 10 have to answer.
SECTION III -24. [ABOUT 200 WORDS ANSWER]
• Internal choice questions [2] 1 from drama & 1 from a poem.

SECTION IV: - AN UNSEEN PASSAGE/ COMPREENSION


25. Moderate length to be selected. 10 Questions shall be asked on factual details
and a few on inferential.
26. PRONOMINAL WORDS: [A Short paragraph from the above passage].
SECTION V: - 27. COMPLETE THE DIALOGUE: [A situation based conversation between two people].
28. REPORTED SPEECH: [Select speeches from specified units only].
▪ If possible try to avoid ‘yes or no questions’ in speech.
SECTION VI: - COMPOSITION SKILLS:
29. NOTE MAKING: Clues can be used wherever necessary.
Drawing the Boxes and picture is not necessary in answer.
30. LETTER WRITING: Job Application for the given advertisement.

INSTRUCTIONS TO ALL QUESTION PAPER SETTERS:


A. Multiple Choice Questions can be opted from all units.
(Three from poems and seven from prose is mandatory)
*Competency based questions (two or three) must be chosen from the units:
01,08, 10 and 12 only (The gentle Man Of The jungle, Watchman of the lake, Fredrick Douglass,
Two Gentlemen Of Verona)
B. 4 marks questions must be chosen; 4 from poetry, 6 from prose
C. 6 marks [ internal choice]questions must be chosen; 1 from drama or prose and 1 from poem
D. Questions on Grammar elements, it is mandatory to follow the specified units only.
E. Avoid repetition of questions from the same chapter by following the weight age of periods,
allotted to the particular unit;
