Dogger Bank Wind Farm will be the world’s
largest offshore wind farm upon completion
in 2026. The project is being developed by
SSE Renewables, Equinor and Eni Plenitude.
People
Dogger Bank is investing £1m
into local communities during the
construction phase. This includes
investing in STEM education and
accreditation in primary and secondary
schools and supporting university
students with scholarships of £5,000
towards student fees. The project also
provides grants to local community
groups aimed towards wellbeing.
Graduates and apprenticeship
opportunities are also available.
Place
Dogger Bank represents an overall
capital investment of £9 billion and
is benefitting the UK supply chain,
including many local companies.
Working with NOF and Energi Coast,
the project has engaged with the
local supply chain through the

construction phase as well as during
the build up to operations to promote
opportunities. The O&M base build has
also significantly impacted the local
area with over £7.5 million spent on
construction with local companies.
Planet
The O&M base at Port of Tyne is being
constructed and will be operated
in line with the UK Green Building
Council’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings
Framework, ensuring sustainability
during the onshore operations. As
the world’s largest offshore wind
farm once constructed, enough clean
electricity will be produced to power
6 million UK homes, or 5% of UK
demand.
