INTRODUCTION

u Canada has a long history of firearms control .

u The primary objective of the CFP was to aid the execution and management
of firearms regulations of 1995.

u CFP has undergone a series of innovative changes over the years (1995-
2003) which has led to increased resource expenditure.

u As at September 2005, CAFC had issued near 2million firearms licences and
the CFIS recorded over 7 millions firearms registrations ).
