Common Rules

Core-Aggregation-Access architecture No Giant Ring (less than 6 nodes per Ring)

10GE for Access Dual uplink to higher layer

10GE+ for Aggregation Ring Topology

100GE for Core All NEs are connected to one network for Each City

Access Network Design

1. GE Ring topology. C610A directly connect to DSLAMs/

LMGs/ OLTs/ BTS/ 3G Node B/ 4G eNodeB, C610A and these *Dual Uplink to two nodes of C650
equipment should be collocated for easy maintenance
C650
2. Nodes per Ring should not more than 6~8, Maximum 10
nodes on Ring
C610A
3. In case Rural area don't have sufficient fiber to network as
Ring, it is allow to have a short link(1 or 2 C610A on link), GE Ring
Ring nodes + Link nodes of one access network should less
than 15
4. Calculate the service bandwidth of each C610A node. All
node of one access network bandwidth together should
*Short link, 1 or 2
less than GE e.g. if each node required 200M, then one nodes on link
access network node should not more than 5 including Ring
nodes + Link nodes
One Access Network
5. Dual uplink. Each Access Ring should uplink to 2 Aggregation
Nodes (C650)
6
Problem Analyze
 Problem 1: Access Ring connect  Problem 2: Access Ring connect  Problem 3: Access Ring connect
to Core Equipment to diff-Aggregation Ring to single Aggregation Node
 Suggestion: Access Ring connect  Suggestion: Access Ring connect  Suggestion: Access Ring should
to Aggregation Node only to same Aggregation Ring Nodes be Dual uplink

Aggregation Ring Bandwidth Calculation

DSLAMs/ LMGs/ OLTs BTS/ Wi-Fi/ 3G/ 4G

 Average 100 DSLAMs/ LMGs/ OLTs per Ring/Network  Each BTS 2*E1=4M

 Average 300 Broadband users per DSLAM/ LMG/ OLT  Each 3G/Wi-Max 52M

 Duty Ratio = 10%  Each 4G 150M

 Each Wi-Fi/ILL 100M

If each connection = 4M

 Per DSLAM/ NGN/ OLT bandwidth = 300*4M*10% =

120M

 Total DSLAM/ NGN/ OLT bandwidth = 100*120M = 12G

1. 10GE Aggregation Ring Capacity is the
bottleneck to provide service to BSNL
If each connection = 10M
customers
 Per DSLAM/ NGN/ OLT bandwidth = 300*10M*10% = 2. Aggregation equipment should have the
300M capability upgrade to 40GE
 Total DSLAM/ NGN/ OLT bandwidth = 100*300M = 30G

8
Aggregation Network Design

1. Adopt Ring topology

2. Ring capacity should be 10GE and can upgrade to higher

Capacity

3.Ring bandwidth should match the service requirement

4. Nodes per Ring should be 4~8

5. Dual uplink. Each Aggregation Ring should uplink to 2 Core

Core Network Design (Not planning now)

1. Adopt □ (4 nodes Ring) topology

2. Capacity should be 100GE

3. Three function of Core Layer

a) Be the Key nodes of Aggregation Ring
b) Traffic scheduling in Metro area
c) Part of the Zone PAN Core Network
