Vienna Euchologia Project Online Winter School

8-9 December 2023, 14.30-18.30 CET

The Vienna Euchologia Project is offering its first Online Winter School. It is designed to introduce
students and others who may be interested to the study of euchologia, Byzantine liturgical prayer books
for the use of priests. Of particular interest for the social history and the history of daily life in Byzantium
are the short prayers for specific occasions that are at the core of the work of the Vienna Euchologia
Project.
The course consists of six sessions (30 minutes presentation, 30 minutes discussion), with breaks in
between.

Attendance: The course is directed instructors and their students. Those who have attended all sessions
and provided their full legal name will be issued with a certificate of attendance by the Institute for
Medieval Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, with the approval of their instructors.
