Mental health issue is a continuous process as human problem differ from time to time (Lind,
n.d). Mental health condition of the students is affected by their environment and support from school,
at home, and in the society where strongly needed by students to maintain and improve their academic
performances (Center of Disease Control and Prevention, 2021). These distresses might affect the
students’ academic performances which leads to uprising of behavioral concerns and depreciation in
academic fulfillment (Arvin Larson, 2021). However, Psychosocial Theory of Erikson (1950) examined and
explained that the academic performance of the students is greatly affected by various factors.
Psychosocial Theory of Erikson accounted that people go through several life stages as they mature, with

affects our development through the following ones. If this work is not completed, it will result in
emotions of inadequacy rather than a sense of competence and a healthy personality (as cited in
Hechanova, 2022). Prior to that, Perez-Rojo et al. (2022) on their study, they believe that older people
can still be very resilient despite age-related changes such role shifts, sickness, loneliness, and loss. They
also added that older people have the greater capacity and higher resilience in dealing with sudden
