Using SymmWin and Inlines Commands


After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
z Access the Inlines Wizard
z Use A7, and A7,x commands to obtain configuration
volume status and volume protection information.
z Identify virtual and sav/log volumes used for
Timefinder Snap
z Use E7, and E7,x command to view volume
information.
z Check director microprocessor time and date

Inlines Wizard

Inlines has a Wizard that can place commands on the command line to be executed. The Inlines Wizard can be accessed by
selecting Commands from the Inlines window menu and selecting Show Templates Wizard or pressing the F7 key.

Inlines Command Tree

The Inlines Wizard will appear and display the command tree. Click on the action and the corresponding command will be
placed on the command line. The Inlines Command Tree will vary with code levels. Warning: Never execute a command
unless you know what the outcome will be. All Inlines display screens are static and do not automatically update.

The A7,NRWD screen displays volumes that are not ready or write disabled.

The E7,FE screen displays in bold, disk that are active on the loop for the Director and microprocessor it was issued from.
The disk that are displayed as a shadow represent the disk that are attached to the paired director. In this example 16a is
displayed in bold and 1a is shadowed. This will correspond to the Disk Map page of the System BIN file.
