Below table provides the information of an Australian innings in the debut match at Sharjah in early 2000s
wherein concluded test match resulted in a draw. With this table, the information was provided to the
selectors for the upcoming Test Cricket Championship. The numbers given in the table were not given as the
number of runs scored by the players but were the difference of the runs scored by the team when those
players were out. For example, if the total runs scored by the team was ‘x’ when M. Hayden got out of the
team, and was ‘y’ when A. Symonds got out of the team, then either x - y = 137 or y - x = 137, depending on
who got out first from the team.
A. Symonds M. Clarke B. Lee S. Clark G. McGrath
M. Hayden 137 187 187 202 203
R. Ponting 119 169 169 184 185

D. Martyn 102 152 152 167 168
M. Hussey 19 69 69 84 85

Additional information known to us:

I. A. Symonds, M. Clarke and B. Lee were the all-rounders in the team with the latter one being the last all-
rounder in the team.

II. Australia managed to score 308 runs.

III. M. Hayden and A. Gilchrist were two opening batsmen and G. McGrath was the last wicket to fall.
