PM ADDRESSES NATIONAL ROZGAR MELA
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi addressed the National Rozgar Mela via
video conferencing today and distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to
newly inducted recruits in various Government departments and organizations.
The recruits, selected from across the country will be joining the Government in
various Ministries/Departments including Ministry of Railways, Department of
Posts, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Revenue, Department of Higher
Education, Department of School Education and Literacy and Ministry of Health
and Family Welfare, among others. 37 places across the country were connected
with the Mela during the Prime Minister’s address.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister noted that the journey of Razgar
Melas has reached an important milestone as Rozgar Melas started in October
last year providing appointment letters for government jobs to lakhs of youths in
various Rozgar Melas in the center and NDA-ruled states and union territories.
Today also, more than 50,000 youths have been given government jobs. The
Prime Minister congratulated the appointees and their families.
He underlined that the Rozgar Melas organized in various states and Union
Territories are signs of the government’s commitment towards the future of the
youth where work is underway in mission mode.

PM CHAIRS 43RD PRAGATI INTERACTION


Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi earlier today chaired the meeting of the 43rd
edition of PRAGATI, the ICT-based multi-modal platform for Pro-Active
Governance and Timely Implementation, involving Centre and State
governments.
In the meeting, a total of eight projects were reviewed. Among these, four
projects were concerned with water supply and irrigation, two projects for
expanding National highways and connectivity, and two projects for rail and
metro rail connectivity. These projects have a cumulative cost of around Rs.
31,000 crore and relate to 7 states viz., Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana, Odisha,
West Bengal, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Prime Minister emphasised that PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan Portal in
conjunction with technologies such as satellite imagery can help address various
issues of implementation and planning relating to location and land requirements
for projects. He also instructed that all the stakeholders executing projects in
high population-density urban areas may appoint nodal officers and form teams
for better coordination. For irrigation projects, Prime Minister advised that visits
of stakeholders be organised where successful Rehabilitation and
Reconstruction work has been done. The transformational impact of such
projects may also be shown. This may motivate the stakeholders for the early
execution of projects.
During the interaction, Prime Minister also reviewed ‘Mobile Towers and 4G
Coverage under USOF Projects’. Under the Universal service obligation fund
(USOF), 33,573 villages with 24,149 mobile towers are to be covered for
saturation of mobile connectivity. Prime Minister asked to ensure setting up of
mobile towers in all uncovered villages within this financial year with regular
meetings with all stakeholders. This will ensure saturation of mobile coverage in
the remotest of the areas. Up to the 43rd edition of PRAGATI meetings, 348
projects having a total cost of Rs. 17.36 lakh crore have been reviewed.

PM Modi also expressed shared concerns regarding terrorism, violence and loss
of civilian lives and emphasizes the need for concerted efforts for early
resolution of the security and humanitarian situation.

developments in the West Asia region. We share concerns regarding terrorism,
violence and loss of civilian lives. Concerted efforts needed for early resolution

PM INAUGURATES 37TH NATIONAL GAMES IN GOA


The Prime Minister, inaugurated the 37th National Games at Pandit Jawaharlal
Nehru Stadium in Margao, Goa. The Games will be held from 26th October to
9th November and will witness the participation of more than 10,000 athletes
from across country who will compete in over 43 sports disciplines in 28 venues.
Addressing the gathering, he remarked that the journey of Mahakumbh of Indian
Sports has arrived in Goa and the environment is filled with colors, waves,
enthusiasm and adventure. “There’s nothing like the aura of Goa”, Shri Modi
emphasized. He congratulated the people of Goa and conveyed his best wishes
on the 37th National Games. The Prime Minister underlined the contribution of
Goa to the country’s sports and mentioned Goa’s love for football. The fact that
the National Games are taking place in sports-loving Goa is energizing in itself,
Prime Minister Modi underlined that the National Games are taking place at a
time when the nation is achieving new heights in the world of sports. He
mentioned the successes in the Asian Games breaking a 70-year-old record and
also spoke about the ongoing Asian Para Games where all previous records
have been smashed with a medal tally of more than 70. He also mentioned the
recently concluded World University Games, where India created history. “India’s
recent success in the world of sports is a huge inspiration for every young
sportsman”, Shri Modi said. Referring to the National Games as a robust
launchpad for every young athlete, the Prime Minister highlighted the various
opportunities present before and urged them to give their best.

AGENCY CALLS ON PM MODI
The Prime Minister underscored India’s enduring commitment to safe and secure
use of atomic energy for peace and development. Prime Minister shared India’s
ambitious goals to enhance the share of environmentally friendly nuclear power
generation capacity as part country’s energy mix.
DG Grossi commended India’s impeccable record as a responsible nuclear
power. He praised India's progress in nuclear science and technology,
particularly highlighting the development and deployment of indigenous Nuclear
Power Plants. He acknowledged India’s global leadership role in civil nuclear
applications for societal benefits. This includes the remarkable progress that
India has made in utilising nuclear technology address the challenges faced by
humankind.

INDIA’S TWITTER PM INAUGURATES 7TH EDITION OF THE


CORNER INDIA MOBILE CONGRESS (IMC)
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi
inaugurated the 7th Edition of the India Mobile
Congress 2023 at Bharat Mandapam in New
Delhi. India Mobile Congress (IMC) is the largest
telecom, media, and technology forum in Asia to
be held from 27th to 29th October 2023 with the
theme ‘Global Digital Innovation’. The IMC 2023
aims to strengthen India’s position as a
developer, manufacturer, and exporter of key
cutting-edge technologies. During the program,
the Prime Minister awarded 100 ‘5G Use Case
Labs’ to educational institutions across the
country.

Industry leaders also spoke on the occasion.


Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, Shri
Akash M Ambani hailed the Prime Minister’s
commitment to improving the lives of younger
generations by inculcating the use of the latest
technologies thereby powering India’s Digital
public infrastructure. He highlighted that the
Prime Minister is an inspiration for millions of
youngsters in the country in making the Digital
India program inclusive, innovative and
sustainable. He informed that Jio has installed
over 10 lakh 5G cells across all 22 circuits of
India, making an 85 percent contribution to the
overall 5G distribution where the rollout of the 5G
stack is designed, developed and manufactured
by Indian talent. “India ranks among the top 3 5
G-enabled nations with a user base of 125
million.

EXPORT CORNER
• India sets $800 per ton minimum export price on onions and a 40 per cent
export duty on onions up to December 31 to improve domestic availability of the
vegetable.
• APEDA and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare reported a 19%
increase in mango exports during the first five months of the ongoing financial
year. India has exported mangoes worth $47.98 million, compared to $ 40.33
million during the same period last year. Together, they facilitated the export of
27,330.02 MT of mangoes from April to August 2023. India's mango exports to
the USA alone surged by 19%, totaling 2043.60 MT in these first five months.
Aside from the USA, India exported mango to Japan (43.08 MT), New Zealand
(110.99 MT), Australia (58.42 MT), and South Africa (4.44 MT). India also
expanded its mango exports to 41 countries, exploring new markets in Iran,
Mauritius, the Czech Republic, and Nigeria.
• At the 7th edition of Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2023, Professor Abhay
Karandikar, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DST),
highlighted India’s advancements in 5G technology and said that India could
lead 6G standardization and dominate global tech exports.
• Speaking at the inauguration of India Mobile Congress, Communications
Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s
clear vision and leadership, the telecom sector has achieved several milestones
on connectivity, affordability and standards and is emerging as a telecom
technology developer, exporter and leader.

HARYANA’S EXPORT CORNER


• Haryana’s exports have increased from Rs 68,032 crore in 2014 to Rs
2,45,453 crore in the fiscal year 2022-23 and 1,59,622 MSMEs have been
established in the state, said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while
presenting a report card on the completion of nine years of his government.
He said that Haryana has attracted investments worth Rs 18,422 crore
which led to the setting up of about 1.6 lakh MSMEs. “This industrial
expansion has concurrently generated employment opportunities for
approximately 12.60 lakh individuals,” he added.

• Big relief for basmati farmers in Punjab and Haryana as Centre slashes
export price - Punjab and Haryana are the major basmati rice exporters. In
the last financial year, their exports were to the tune of Rs 33,000 crore. In
a big relief for basmati farmers and exporters, the Union government has
reduced the minimum export prices (MEP) of basmati rice to $950 per
tonne from $1200 per tonne announced in August. This reduction is
expected to greatly benefit basmati growers, ensuring better prices for their
crops.

• In July this year, India banned the export of non-basmati white rice amid
depleting public stock in the Central pool, elevated cereal prices, and
looming threat of the uneven monsoon.

STYLE SYSTEM FOR IMMEDIATE
AMBULANCE ASSISTANCE TO PATIENTS IN
NEED IN THE STATE OF HARYANA
Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal has
unveiled an ambitious plan to establish an Ola
and Uber-style system for immediate ambulance
assistance to patients in need. Under this
initiative, a unified pool of both government and
private ambulances across the state will be
created.

Patients will receive prompt assistance from the


nearest available ambulance, ensuring timely and
efficient medical care.

The Chief Minister revealed this during the


monthly meeting of the District Public Relations
and Grievance Redressal Committee held in
Faridabad on Tuesday. Out of the 13 cases
brought forward in the meeting, 10 were promptly
addressed. He also highlighted the importance of
essential medicines and added that out of the 510
medicines required, specific instructions have
been issued to ensure the availability of 65 critical
medications in hospitals at all times.

During the meeting, addressing a woman's


complaint concerning a loan from The Friends
Cooperative Building Construction Society, the
Chief Minister directed for the immediate
suspension of Deputy Registrar Cooperative
Socieities Yashpal and dealing Clerk Jasbir.

During the previous meeting, the Chief Minister


had instructed that corrective action be taken;
however, the matter remained unaddressed due
to laxity.

A fruitful meeting was held at the Haryana CM Residence in Chandigarh. The
meeting was held to discuss and plan the way forward for strengthening support
for supply chain management in Haryana in collaboration with WANFENG
ALUMINUM WHEEL (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED to discuss the Current Supply
Chain Challenges globally.

This will attract the solutions and arrangements including :

1. Collaborative Solutions: The meeting focused on identifying collaborative


solutions to address these challenges. It was emphasized that a joint effort is
essential to optimize supply chain operations.

2. Technology Integration: Both Haryana and WANFENG ALUMINUM WHEEL


(INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED Aluminum Wheel will explore the integration of
advanced technologies like data analytics, IoT, and blockchain to enhance
visibility and efficiency in the supply chain.

3. Skill Development: Skill development programs were discussed to ensure that


the local workforce in state is equipped with the necessary skills to manage
and improve supply chain processes effectively.

4. Timelines and Goals: A roadmap with clear timelines and goals was discussed
to implement the proposed solutions and monitor progress effectively.
The meeting concluded on a positive note with a commitment from both Haryana
and WANFENG ALUMINUM WHEEL (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED Wheel to work
closely together in advancing supply chain management in the region, with a focus
on efficiency, sustainability, and skill development.

FOREIGN COOPERATION DEPARTMENT HOLDS A MEETING AT THE


ETHIOPIAN EMBASSY IN NEW DELHI
A meeting between Haryana and H.E. Demeke Atnafu Ambassador of Ethiopia in
India, held at the Embassy of Ethiopia in New Delhi, to discuss collaboration in
areas such as agriculture, health, education, and trade for mutual interest is a
significant diplomatic and cooperative effort.
1. Agriculture & Technology Sector Collaboration:
The Haryana, a state known for its agricultural prowess, could share expertise in
farming practices, crop management, and agribusiness with Ethiopian counterparts.
Discussions revolved around agricultural trade agreements, technology transfer,
and knowledge exchange to boost agricultural productivity in Ethiopia.

2. Health Sector:
Health-related discussions might encompass sharing best practices in healthcare,
public health, and medical research. Collaborative efforts could be explored, such
as training healthcare professionals, addressing healthcare infrastructure gaps, or
