I am writing regarding the video consultation I had with Mr. Kai Shaheen (DOB 28/04/1992)
and the technical inspection I performed on the 2006 BMW 1-Series Hatchback 118i SE 5d
(Reg Number BN06XPM).

As you know, I hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and have over 7 years of experience
analysing vehicle issues working with my Government Automative Workshop and Omar
Jibran Engineering Ltd.

After reviewing the documents, photos and technical data brought to my attention, I
noticed the engine warning light was illuminated on the dashboard. Upon further
examination, I discovered serious problems with both the clutch and engine that require
immediate repair or full replacement.

The engine bearings are showing signs of wear, which can cause the engine to run rough or
make unusual noises. This can cause a loss of oil pressure which can rapidly lead to
increased friction, heat, and engine seizure. A sudden loss of oil pressure at highway speeds
endangers other drivers as well. If left unresolved, it will cause premature failure, if the
worn bearings completely fail or seize suddenly, it can cause catastrophic engine damage,
losing control of the vehicle and placing lives at risk. Thrown rods/pistons make engine
fragments projectiles.

There is also evidence of engine Oil Leak. Leaking oil can drip or pool onto hot engine
components, automatic transmission fluid pan, or exhaust, where it can easily ignite into an
engine fire. Fire presents extreme life risk. Burning oil releases toxic gases into the
passenger cabin, which can impair breathing and vision while driving, increasing risk of an
accident.

There is also a risk of overheating - A complete loss of lubrication from worn bearings
blocking oil flow can cause very rapid overheating, with potential for fires, smoke/gas
inhalation, and impairment of vision/control while driving. Furthermore, the risk of severe
engine vibrations at higher speeds make steering and stability unpredictable, heightening
risks of accidents.

When depressing the clutch pedal, noticeable vibration is felt in the pedal assembly. This
indicates component damage or misalignment and problems with transmission. The
vibration increases the risk of stalling or jerky gear changes, potentially causing an accident.
Proper clutch function is critical for safe vehicle operation. Prolonged exposure to intense
pedal vibrations, especially for elderly or injured passengers, may cause physical pain,
nausea or motion sickness that compounds any existing medical conditions.

In my expert opinion as a licensed automotive engineer, it is not advisable or safe to operate

this car in its current condition. The problems identifcied constitute hazards that
compromise your control and safety while driving. An accident could result from loss of
power or a sudden stall.

The estimated cost to repair the clutch replacement and machine work to the engine is 1450
GBP. Unless addressed promptly, further driving may necessitate a full engine replacement
at much greater expense. You should be able to get a refund for this amount from the
company as I can confirm communications and documents I have seen show company has
agreed to cover the costs of repairing or replacing.

I also recommend you get this repaired yourself and not through the company you bought it
from as if you do it yourself you will be sure that proper repair work was done.

Therefore, I cannot recommend or condone driving this car until the mandatory repairs are
performed.
