 Readers’ Note
Dear Reader, do you have a pet? Well, I have never had any, other than
fishes, but just looking at them makes me happy. Some people have
exotic pets, and while some are cute the others are not. Some have
them for show, fashion, because they are exotic, for status, etc. I have
them for love. Love your pets. I am sure I do not need to say this. My
mother used to have dogs, even their stories make me happy. Well, yes
you may be saying that your buildings do not allow pets. Love them, they
will give you infinite happiness. But then treat all animals as your pets,
strays, pets who are lost, etc. Show your love by not harming them, or
buying their parts such as elephant tusks, tiger nails etc. Do not harm
them, love them. Because remember, Karma comes back!
 1. The Introduction
Now, you, the reader, may probably not know who these “underestimated eight” are. They
are a bunch of normal kids, except, a bunch of normal kids do not usually fall into an
adventure. These are a total of 7 kids, and a dog. Now, they are- Michael, Matthew, James,
Kevin, Jennifer, Sarah and little Dorothy. Of course, let us not forget the best dog there is,
Max! James is the leader, as he is the oldest.

2. The Undercover Society

James lead the so-called secret society called The Undercover Society. All the 7 were a part
of it. They had secret passwords (easy to crack), secret meetings (In a shed), badges (sewn by
their mums) and the main part- instruments of spies (given to James as a gift by his
grandfather, who was an actual spy). The winter had ended. James said at the end of the
meeting, “We will meet next week, the code is- wait, all of you come close- apple of the
winter.” They used to meet on Saturdays.

3. The Strange Night

At night, around 3, Michael heard a scream. He had an ear problem, and he used hearing aids.
His parents had gotten him special ones, so he could hear what was ridiculously hard for
others. He was awake before he heard it, he had gone for getting water. When he heard it, he
froze. He heard a boy, around his age. He thought of presenting this matter to James
tomorrow, yes, that would be alright.

4. James Finds out about the Scream.

As the morning came, Michael came to the meeting. The way it worked was first they
presented the badge, then they said the word, then they were checked to see if there was any
device that they were carrying. And they were not just joking, they were very vigilant.
Michael was usually extremely sensitive to sound when he had his aids, and he was always
asked to put on them on even when he slept. Michael told James and the others about the
scream. Sarah, who was very practical, said, ‘It must have been a joke. After all, there has
been no kidnapping in years here, right?’
‘No’ said James, ‘In Shropermuc place, there have been 7 kidnappings this month’.
‘How do we know that it is them?’ said Kevin.
‘We can find out!’ said Mathew so suddenly, that all jumped.’ If they were these people, we
can know. The police found 2 kids in Cad South and in Grelem park. Then we think we got
the 3rd in Yeffed Circle, that is here. These 3 are near, and in a line. Which means, they will
go to Twettaft Road next. Now, the 7 kids were the sole heirs of the richest men of that town,
So, which means they will go to the rich man, Lowell Blair, who is the other richest in
Shropermuc place, as he has a sole heir, of our age called Douglas Blaire! We have to warn
him!’

5. The plan is made

Everyone was amazed at this. James said, ‘That was brilliant! Now we know who and where
they will go. And the 7 kidnappings were in the last month, that’s February. They were
kidnapping kids every 4 days. The police knew this, but they did not do anything. They will
surely go to kidnap him Tomorrow! And all were kidnapped at night around 12 to 2, which
means they would have needed an hour to reach. Which means they would have reached here
at about 3 at night, which is right when Michael heard it. If Matt can find this out so easily,
the police ought to have. I have a feeling they too are involved, after all, they are advising the
billionaires to give the money, asked in exchange of their sons. We will have to do this
ourselves. Everyone keeps their ears open, Matthew and Michael, you go find the number of
Douglas. Kevin and I will find us everything we need from the store. Sarah and Jennifer, you
both go and do research on the police, try to find out if they too are involved. Dorothy, wish
us good luck. Disperse!’

6. The Plan getting carried out

Shropermuc place was a very expensive piece of land, which was why there were only super
rich people that stayed there. Michael and Matthew went and explained everything to the
Billionaire. He was surprised to hear this, He said, ‘Thank you for informing this to me. I will
keep him under protection.’
‘No, we need him to catch the kidnappers. They will be looking for him, when they get him,
your men will go and catch him, and then they will be reported to the police station’ said
Matthew.
The man said angrily, ‘I will not let my boy be used for this. He shall not be placed in
danger!’
Matthew said angrily, ‘Fine! He is my age, and I look a lot like him. Let me be him. But
make him wear different wigs, clothes and look different than his usual self. On the other
hand, let me use wigs, clothes and look just like him, is that all right?’
The man was stunned, and then he agreed.
The girls found out that there had been a large money transfer to all the police officer’s bank
accounts. They accomplished this as the bank itself was owned by Mr Blaire. The other two
got what they needed.
 7. At night
The night finally came. The plan was that when the kidnappers came to get Matthew, he
would run in to a room, which had an entrance and an exit, as the kidnappers got in the door
behind them would be closed and on the other side the boy would close this door. Then they
had to surrender. If there was any problem, then the men would fight physically. Matthew
was even given a bulletproof jacket for extra precautions.

8. Plans go wrong
Shropermuc place was very dark at night. The plan was a huge success right up to the point
of them going in the room. Then something terrible happened that shook them. Matthews
jacket falls, which shows his clothes, which are not like the rich boy. The kidnapper
understands and points his gun at him.

9. Max to the rescue

Max jumps at the correct time and pounces on his hands. The gun falls down. Then he attacks
the kidnapper and Matthew has the gun. The men catch the kidnapper. Soon the police are
caught having gotten the bribes!
The billionaire is very pleased with the kids and offers them a hefty reward, however the kids
decline it politely. But Max surely wanted his cookies!
