Incarnations and Events Story Name

Magnus is loomed into the Newblood House of Dvora and given a PROSE: The Book of the War
Gallifreyan name with thirty-two letters. After the Imperator Crisis PROSE: Lords and Masters,
Magnus is sent to the House of Oakdown. At the age of eight he is PROSE: Newtons Sleep
taken to the Untempered Schism and is driven mad with lust for TV: The Sound of Drums
power.

Magnus attends the Academy under the Prydonian Chapter and meets TV: World Enough and Time,
Theta. They become best friends and make a pact to see every star in
TV: The End of Time,
the universe together. They play together in the fields around Mount
PROSE: The Eight Doctors,
Perdition and occasionally sneak out to Low Town. The pair are
AUDIO: Master
regularly bullied by Torvic, who nearly drowns Magnus. In response,
Theta kills Torvic, and asks Death to make Magnus her Champion.

During his time in the Academy he also joins a clique or society of ten PROSE: Divided Loyalties,
rebellious students who want to change the universe. Magnus chooses PROSE: The Quantum Archangel,
his title around this time as he starts to hone his talents at the
TV: The Sound of Drums,
Academy, opting to be known as ‘the Master’. Theta thinks it shows
signs of his ambition and arrogance. Magnus and Theta visit the AUDIO: The Destination Wars,
Medusa Cascade for a practical Academy exam and remove their AUDIO: The Blood of the Time

Report on Term’s Work

In an aborted timeline caused by their future self, Magnus is AUDIO: Masterful


transported via time scoop where he meets his other incarnations.

Magnus shows an interest in constructing TARDISes and is eventually PROSE: Divided Loyalties,
appointed to the scientific research department at the Academy, at PROSE: Harvest of Time,
which he is assigned various scientific projects. Theta disagrees with
COMIC: Flashback, PROSE: Last of
the ethics behind many of his experiments, protesting many times and
the Gadarene, AUDIO: The
realises that Magnus stands against everything he believes in.
Destination Wars

Magnus and Theta fight alongside each other during the Cloister Wars. TV: The Magician’s Apprentice,
Magnus is unconcerned with using up his regenerations, and has Hell Bent, COMIC: Flashback,
already regenerated a number of times. He mocks Theta for still being PROSE: Invasion of the Cat-
in his original incarnation, which has now started to grow old with age. People

Magnus works closely with the High Council as a constable in the Time PROSE: The Legacy of Gallifrey,
Lord police force Chapter 9, in this role he takes on several identities, AUDIO: The Black Hole,
for example being known as ‘Pavo’. He is in line for a promotion if he PROSE: Time and Relative,
prevents any violations of the non-interference policy. He gives AUDIO: The Toy
Arkytior a ‘toy’ that would locate her and Theta Sigma if they ever
leave Gallifrey. Whilst pursuing a renegade known as ‘the Monk’,
Magnus is shot and regenerates into a female incarnation. She meets
the future Second Doctor and, upon realising the mission has been
compromised, erases his memory of the encounter and lets him go.

In the body of a young man, Magnus leads the students of the PROSE: Birth of a Renegade,
Prydonian Academy in a revolt against the corrupt constitution of PROSE: Celestial Intervention - A
Gallifrey. Violent reprisals force Theta and ‘Susan’ to escape the planet Gallifreyan Noir, PROSE:
by stealing a TARDIS. Magnus and Ushas interrogate a retired CIA agent Timewyrm: Exodus,
for the Doctor’s whereabouts but find out nothing. Magnus is soon
COMIC: The Glorious Dead
branded a criminal by the CIA for treason and he flees Gallifrey the
same day Theta did. He fully takes on his chosen moniker, the Master.

Ninth Incarnation - The “Renegade” Master

The Master steals a broken TARDIS, which falls apart, stranding him on AUDIO: The Destination Wars
Destination. He develops the planet's technology for his own ends. He
meets the First Doctor and is ultimately trapped in his own laboratory.

The Master allies himself with the Gods of Ragnarok and brings AUDIO: The Psychic Circus
together the Psychic Circus. The Seventh Doctor warns him that the
Gods are using him and the Master is left at the mercy of the Gods.

The Master incites warfare between races by hypnotising humans into AUDIO: The Home Guard
thinking they are fighting. He is put on trial for use of mind control and
war crimes, but claims that he will learn from his experiments.

The Master is incarcerated in jail by the warrior race of Trastevarians. PROSE: Save Yourself
He is close to death when he meets the War Lord, and regenerates. He
deceivingly tells him about the Sisterhood of Karn’s Elixir of Life and
that it is a vital part of the Time Lord’s regenerative process.

Tenth Incarnation - The War Chief

The Master works with the War Lords, by sharing his knowledge and TV: The War Games
skill with time travel technology; helping them build SIDRATs, he is
given the title of War Chief. The Master attempts to double-cross the
War Lords and he is executed, collapsing on the War Lords’ ship.

Eleventh Incarnation - ‘Der Kriegslieter’

The Master undergoes a faulty regeneration, his new form looking like PROSE: Timewyrm: Exodus
two bodies fused together and deformed. Meeting the Seventh Doctor,
he attempts to take the Doctor's body and regenerations. He is last
seen engulfed in flames, but appears in a newly-regenerated body;
"young, tall, dark and satanically handsome".

Twelfth Incarnation - The ‘Koschei’ Master

Following his regeneration, the Master ends up at the Scoundrels Club PROSE: Dismemberment
during the Great Fire of London. He becomes a member of the club
and organises fireworks on the roof to celebrate the occasion.

Using a functional TARDIS with additional alien components to shield PROSE: The Quantum Archangel
him from detection, the Master accesses the Matrix on Gallifrey.

The Master picks up Ailla and then travels to the Darkheart. He meets PROSE: The Dark Path,
the Second Doctor and learns that Ailla is a CIA agent. The Master’s
PROSE: Doctor Who and the
TARDIS is pulled into a black hole, so the Time Lords capture him. The
Terror of the Autons
Master is able to escape before they can de-energise his TARDIS.

The Master attempts to lure the Doctor’s TARDIS to the Archon’s PROSE: The Nameless City
homeworld, so they can get revenge on the Time Lords.

The Master hires River Song for a job, but she betrays him and turns AUDIO: Rivers of Light, PROSE:
him over to the Time Lords again. Having been responsible for several The Book of the War - The War
interplanetary wars, they hold him in Shada, their prison planet for King, PROSE: Prisoners of the Sun
dangerous criminals. Some time later, the CIA orders the wardens to
release the Master in order to keep the exiled Doctor busy.

The Master observes the events of the Third Doctor in exile, and makes PROSE: Who Killed Kennedy
contact with journalist James Stevens.

The Master infiltrates UNIT HQ and interrogates Liz Shaw. PROSE: Reconnaissance

The Master goes public with his battle with the Doctor and UNIT by TV: Terror of the Autons
teaming up with the Nestenes. The Doctor steals his demat circuit,
preventing the Master from leaving Earth in his TARDIS.

The Master is trapped on Earth. PROSE: Doorway into Nowhere

The Master reclaims his dematerialisation circuit during his plot with TV: The Mind of Evil
the Keller Machine, allowing him to leave Earth in his TARDIS.

The Master has only just got his TARDIS working. PROSE: Deadly Reunion

After a failed alliance with Axos, the Master is trapped in a time loop TV: The Claws of Axos
by the Doctor.

The Master travels to the planet Uxarieus, hoping to find the TV: Colony in Space
Doomsday Weapon. Once again the Doctor defeats his plans and the
weapon is destroyed.

In Devil's End, the Master tries to summon the Dæmon Azal. When his TV: The Daemons
plan fails, the Master is captured by UNIT.

Prior to his trial, the Master is sent to Stangmoor Prison. When a PROSE: Freedom
rescue plan fails the Master is sent to another holding facility.

The Master is now being held at Durlston Heath. He is released PROSE: Harvest of Time
temporarily to assist the Doctor against the Sild.

Following his trial, the Master is being held at Aylesbury Grange COMIC: The Man in the Ion Mask
Detention Centre.

The Master is still locked up at Aylesbury Grange Detention Centre. He TV: The Face of the Enemy
hides his TARDIS back in Devil's End.
After switching bodies with the Doctor, and attempting to steal his PROSE: The Switching
TARDIS, the Master is moved to Fortress Island.

The Master builds an alliance with the Sea Devils and escapes from TV: The Sea Devils
Fortress Island in a hovercraft.

The Master retrieves his TARDIS from Devil's End. PROSE: The Eight Doctors

The Master attempts to prevent the Kennedy assassination, to make PROSE: Who Killed Kennedy

Earth. The Doctor uses a pier train to crash into the Master and knock
him into the ocean.

The Master takes control of the Brigadier's mind and instructs him to PROSE: Smash Hit
kill the Doctor. The Brigadier fights back and attacks the Master who
then escapes.

The Master travels to the Land of Fiction, where he intends to steal an COMIC: Character Assassin

The Master becomes involved in "a galactic fracas" relating to "a AUDIO: The Last Fairy Tale

The Master attends Bonjaxx's birthday party at Maruthea. COMIC: Party Animals

The Master threatens Britain with obliteration if he isn't given the COMIC: The Glen of Sleeping
Doctor's TARDIS. He is temporarily trapped in the 18th century.

For a short while, the Master adopts the identity of "Duke Dominus", a PROSE: The Duke of Dominoes
gangster on early 20th century Earth.

The Master becomes the Ambassador AUDIO: The Same Face

The Master travels to a Sontaran-occupied planet and convinces COMIC: The Judas Goatee
several of the locals that he is a deity, leading them to grow goatees.

On Skaro, the Master forges an alliance with the Daleks, acting as their PROSE: Verdigris,
agent to provoke warfare between the Earth Empire and the Draconian TV: Frontier in Space
Empire in the 26th century.

The Master sees the Twelfth Doctor’s TARDIS explode and attempts to COMIC: Doorway to Hell
harness the leaking artron energy. This energy backfires on him,
causing him to regenerate into his final incarnation.

Thirteenth Incarnation - The Burnt Master

The Master recovers from his regeneration at the Scoundrels Club. PROSE: Dismemberment

The Master is attacked by a future incarnation of himself on Tersurus, AUDIO: The Two Masters,
and left in a decaying state. The Cult of the Heretic then switched the AUDIO: Vampire of the Mind,
Masters' bodies. In the body of his future incarnation, the Master sets
AUDIO: The Bekdel Test,
up the Dominus Institute and meets the Sixth Doctor. The Master is
eventually returned to his burnt body and left to climb through the TV: The Deadly Assassin
sewers of Tersurus before being found by Chancellor Goth.

Invited by Missy, the Master joins with his future selves to take part in COMIC: The Abominable
‘The Battle of the Bands Beyond the Stars’. Showmen, The Five Masters

The Master allies with Goth to use the Eye of Harmony and the Sash of TV: The Deadly Assassin,
Rassilon to restore his body, he is defeated by the Fourth Doctor but is AUDIO Trail of the White Worm
able to partially heal himself before escaping Gallifrey.

The Master attempts to follow the Doctor through Gallifrey's AUDIO: The Museum of
transduction barrier but is knocked off course stranding him in 1890s Curiosities, Jago & Son, Maurice,
London. The Master's plot to drain the energy from Jago and Litefoot's The Woman in White,
bodies is thwarted by the Sixth Doctor. Masterpiece

The Master attempts to steal Iris Wildthyme's body. PROSE: The Scarlet Shadow

The Master rules over Cheska Minor as a Sun God. After time in stasis, AUDIO: Animal Instinct
he is moved to Cheska Major and meets River Song for the first time.

The Master allies himself with the Kraals on Oseidon, as part of a plan AUDIO: Trail of the White Worm,
to create ZO-radiation to renew himself. AUDIO: The Oseidon Adventure

The Master uses a conceptual bomb bought from the CIA in an attempt AUDIO: The Light at the End
to erase the Doctor's TARDIS and his timeline.

The Master poses as Inspector Efendi of the Intergalactic insurance AUDIO: The Evil One
agency to find spaceships full of gold bullion.
Onboard the headquarters of the Rocket Men, the Master kidnaps AUDIO: Requiem for the Rocket
Leela from the Fourth Doctor. He uses her as his champion during his Men, AUDIO: Death Match
time as Hunt Master of the Death-Match.

The Master attempts to ally himself with the Daleks and the Cybermen, PROSE: The Not-So-Sinister
but his plan is foiled by Romana II. Sponge

The Master plans to use the Source on Traken to restore his body. TV: The Keeper of Traken
When that fails he uses the power of the Keeper of Traken to possess
and steal the body of Nyssa's father Tremas.

The Tremas Master

The Master returns to Earth and relaxes in the Scoundrels Club, PROSE: Dismemberment
allowing him to get used to his newly possessed body.

At the Pharos Project, the Master causes the Fourth Doctor to fall off a TV: Logopolis
radio telescope and regenerate, whilst he escapes.

The Master tries to trap the newly-regenerated Fifth Doctor in TV: Castrovalva
Castrovalva, only to end up trapped there himself.

Still trapped in Castrovalva, the Master manipulates Harry Houdini to AUDIO: Smoke and Mirrors
send a distress call to the Fifth Doctor in order to get revenge.

The Master has managed to escape from Castrovalva, but has damaged TV: Time-Flight
his TARDIS in the process. He attempts to use the Xeraphin gestalt to
repair his ship, but is foiled by the Doctor and left trapped on Xeriphas.

The Master uses Kamelion, an android he found on Xeriphas, in an TV: The King's Demons
attempt to prevent the signing of the Magna Carta, but is thwarted
when the Doctor takes Kamelion from him.

The Master is summoned to Gallifrey by Borusa to assist the four TV: The Five Doctors
trapped incarnations of the Doctor, however his help is denied.

The Master is allegedly stripped of his stolen body by the Time Lords PROSE: The Velvet Dark
and attempts to steal one of the Doctor’s incarnations.

Now that Gallifrey is leaderless and politically unstable, the Master TV: The Five Doctors
plans to return with an army of Cybermen and a kidnapped Susan who PROSE: Birth of a Renegade
could legitimately rule Gallifrey as a puppet President. Susan uses the
Master’s TCE and shoots his TARDIS which shrinks down the inside.

In an aborted timeline caused by his future self, the Master sends AUDIO: Masterful
Kamelion in his place to meet his other incarnations.

After he is shrunk by his own Tissue Compression Eliminator, the TV: Planet of Fire
Master tries to use the Numismaton Gas of Sarn to restore himself, but
instead he is apparently disintegrated by the Doctor.

Following his exposure to the Numismaton Gas, the Master uses the PROSE: A Town Called Eternity
Fountain of Youth to restore his burned body.
The Master uses his link with Kamelion to sabotage the Fifth Doctor's AUDIO: Winter
regeneration, but is thwarted by Nyssa.

The Master allies himself with the Rani against the Sixth Doctor. He TV: The Mark of the Rani
ends up trapped in the Rani's TARDIS.

The Master separates the Rani's console room from the rest of her PROSE: State of Change
TARDIS, freeing himself while leaving the Rani to drift aimlessly
through the vortex.

PROSE: The Time Savers??

AUDIO: The Hollows of Time

The Master assists the Sixth Doctor in his trial against the Valeyard. TV: The Ultimate Foe,
He is imprisoned in the Matrix by the Valeyard. PROSE: The Eight Doctors

The Time Lords release the Master from the Matrix, the Master then PROSE: Mission: Impractical,
supposedly kills the technicians and flees in his TARDIS. However, he is AUDIO: Lesser Evils
actually exiled to the planet Alexis in the far future.

Wanting to use a dimensional nexus, the Master is confronted by the AUDIO: The End of the Line
Valeyard who tells the Master to leave the Doctor alone.

The Master is attacked by Chronovores and he is reduced to his PROSE: The Quantum Archangel
cadaverous form. He plans to use the Lux Aeterna to destroy the
Chronovores and gain immortality. The plan fails but he still manages
to harness the power enough to restore his Trakenite body.

With a broken-down TARDIS, the Master sets up a plan with the PROSE: A Handful of Stardust
Cassiopeians and Dr. Dee and his associate. This is foiled by the Sixth
Doctor who also fixes his TARDIS and refills the fluid link.

The Master visits Christopher Marlowe and attempts to encourage him PROSE: Master Faustus
to keep on living by showing him the universe.

The Master attempts to assassinate Julius Caesar and cross the Rubicon COMIC: Crossing the Rubicon
in order to lead the Roman Empire and dominate the galaxy.

Invited by Missy, the Master joins with his future selves to take part in COMIC: The Abominable
‘The Battle of the Bands Beyond the Stars’. Showmen, The Five Masters

The Master tries to start a war between Antari Two and Antari Three TV: Survival
and then goes to the Cheetah planet where the Cheetah virus starts
corrupting his DNA. He is trapped on the exploding planet.

An alternate timeline exists in which the Master did not get trapped on PROSE: The Eight Doctors,
Earth and he continues to succumb to the virus in the body of Tremas.
It is potentially in this timeline that the Master lives as ‘Dr John Smith’ AUDIO: Master,
for ten years due to a deal that the Seventh Doctor made with Death.
et al.

The Master uses a kitling to transmigrate off the Cheetah planet, PROSE: First Frontier
however this trapped him on Earth. He makes a deal with the Tzun for
them to retrieve his TARDIS and to cure the Cheetah virus within him.
The Master receives the Tzun nanites which restore his Time Lord
body, appearing to give him a new set of regenerations. He is then shot
by Ace and regenerates. The Master escapes in his newly returned
TARDIS.

Fourteenth Incarnation - The Tzun Master

The Master travels to the Scoundrels Club to gather his wits. PROSE: Dismemberment

Arriving in Camelot, the Master assumes the role of the new Merlin PROSE: The Creation of Camelot
after the old one dies, however on seeing the Doctor and Tegan the
Master hurries to his TARDIS to escape.

The Master’s plan is foiled by the Sixth Doctor and Peri. PROSE: The Fellowship of Quan,
The Radio Waves

The Master lays a trap for the Doctor's TARDIS, the plan fails when PROSE: Housewarming
Sarah Jane Smith, Mike Yates and K-9 destroy the device.

The nanites in the Master begin to fail, threatening to revert his body PROSE: Happy Endings
back to a decaying husk. He attempts to steal the Loom of Rassilon's
Mouse from Gallifrey, intending to use it to weave himself a new body.

An older-looking Master meets up with the Doctor (claiming to be in TV: The Curse of Fatal Death
his ninth incarnation) on Tersurus. They attempt to trick each other
and the Master spends nine centuries in the sewers of the planet. He
allies himself with the Daleks and is augmented with their technology.
After witnessing the Doctor regenerate multiple times he flirted with
the female Thirteenth Doctor and they walked away together.

A timeline exists in which the Master became aware of the War PROSE: The Book of the War,
between the Time Lords and the Enemy and returned to Gallifrey to The Infinity Doctors, The
serve as its Magistrate and then War King. He was also present after Adventuress of Henrietta Street,
the end of the War in Heaven, as one of the four surviving elementals. et al.

The Master lands his TARDIS in the Valley of the Kings. He is captured AUDIO: Mastermind,
by the Daleks and taken to Skaro, where the Master ingests a native COMIC: The Fallen,
‘death-worm morphant’. He is put on trial by the Parliament of the TV: Doctor Who,
Daleks for his attempts to destroy them and usurp their place as the PROSE: The Novel of the Film
“supreme creatures of the universe” and is executed by the Dalek
Prelature.

The Morphant Master

On the Master’s telepathic request, and as part of the ‘Act of Master PROSE: Meet the Doctor,
Restitution’ the Seventh Doctor transports his best enemy’s remains PROSE: A Brief History of Time
back to Gallifrey. On the way the Master escapes, now a serpentine Lords, PROSE: Lungbarrow,
morphant and takes over the body of a paramedic. The Master

attempts to extract the Doctor’s remaining regenerations, but after a
struggle ends up trapped in the Eye of Harmony.

Still trapped in the Doctor’s TARDIS, the Master rides the pure energy AUDIO: The Lifeboat and the
from the Eye of Harmony into a spare room which is then ejected into Deathboat
the Time Vortex. He spends hundreds of years in the remains of the
timeship trying to find a way to escape.

Invited by Missy, the Master joins with his future selves to take part in COMIC: The Abominable
‘The Battle of the Bands Beyond the Stars’. Showmen, The Five Masters

The Master again meets up with his other selves. In an aborted AUDIO: (Ravenous 4, Masterful)
timeline created by his future self, the Master meets up with his other
incarnations. He is still in his Bruce form with black hair.

Still in the body of Bruce, the Master’s hair has turned silver-grey. He AUDIO: (Master!)
calls out from the Vortex and is released by Lila Kreeg. When the
Daleks arrive on earth wanting to follow through with the death
sentence on the Master, the Master is sucked back into the Time
Vortex.

Still stuck in the Vortex, the Master loses his physical form. Found by COMIC: The Glorious Dead,
Esterath, he takes the body of a vagrant and is shown a glimpse of the The Fallen
Glory. When Kroton becomes the controller of the Glory he reverses
everything that the Master had built, sending him back into the
TARDIS.

From within the Eye of Harmony, the Master sets a trap for the newly PROSE: The Eight Doctors,
regenerated Doctor. He is also able to speak to the Doctor through Sometime Never…, The
screens and mirrors within the TARDIS. On one occasion he threatens Deadstone Memorial,
to detonate a fusion device, but the Doctor seals up the Eye of The Gallifrey Chronicles
Harmony before he is able to follow through.

The Master manages to escape through the Eye of Harmony by PROSE: Prologue, Forgotten
influencing the dreams of Edward Grainger. The Master possesses the
body of George Steer and then a man called Richard in 1906.

The Master enjoys the conveniences of the Scoundrels Club, with no- PROSE: Dismemberment
one knowing (or caring) that they are a serpentine morphant.

The Master possesses a number of humans to prolong his survival. He AUDIO: Mastermind
lives through the rest of the 20th Century, escaping to America to
avoid the First World War. He is found by UNIT and imprisoned in their
Vault. After fifteen years he manages to escape, reclaiming his TARDIS
that had been moved there from the Valley of the Kings.
The Master destroys a planet and records a message for humans to AUDIO: I Am The Master
listen to, in an attempt to hypnotise and take over their body.

The Master is killed by the Ravenous and is resurrected by his other AUDIO: Planet of Dust,
incarnations using CIA technology... Day of the Master

Fifteenth Incarnation - The Resurrected Master

The Master believes he was resurrected by the CIA to fight AUDIO: Eyes of the Master,
The Death of Hope,
The Devil You Know,
Dominion,
TV: The Sound of Drums

The Master starts using Chancellor Goth’s old TARDIS and is able to AUDIO: Dominion
break into Tersurus to obtain knowledge of the Dimensioneers as part
of a plan to control the dimensional energies of the universe.

The Master makes a deal with the Cult of the Heretic. He shoots his AUDIO: And You Will Obey Me,
thirteenth incarnation on Tersurus and the Cult switches the Masters’ The Two Masters
bodies. In the body of his past incarnation, the Cult try to kill the
Master but they are stopped with the help of the Fifth Doctor. The
Master’s bodies are restored by the Seventh Doctor.

The Master is instructed by the CIA to use the Eminence as a weapon AUDIO: Time's Horizon, Eyes of

Whilst trying to figure out a plan to sabotage the Sontarans, the AUDIO: Masterful
Master is transported to an aborted timeline that a future incarnation
of the Master has created, and meets his other selves.

Sixteenth Incarnation - The War Master

At some point the Master regenerates into a new incarnation, and he PROSE: Dismemberment
visits the Scoundrels Club.

The Master is stranded in a parallel universe but he discovers the AUDIO: Master of Worlds
Cybermen and follows them back into his own universe. He arrives at
UNIT HQ in the 2010s and fights the Cybermen alongside UNIT.

The Master makes a deal to smuggle a creature across time and space AUDIO: Concealed Weapon
inside a human host. He meets River Song again and knows enough
about her background to be able to hypnotise her.
At some point the Master loses his TARDIS, and he agrees to work with AUDIO: Beneath the Viscoid
the Daleks who send him to Gardezza. The Master retrieves his TARDIS,
and then receives a call to return to Gallifrey, which he answers.

The Master is sent on a mission by the CIA, to acquire Swenyo for the AUDIO: Call for the Dead, The
Time Lords’ war effort. He is rewarded with a Chameleon Arch. Glittering Prize, The Persistence
of Dreams, Sins of the Father

The Master arrives on Gallifrey. He participates in a mission to recover AUDIO: The Devil You Know
vital information about a potential weapon that could end the Time
War. The Master decides to head for Arcking to find it.

The Master meets Cole Jarnish on Arcking and takes him on as a AUDIO: The Good Master,
companion as he sees his potential as a paradox. The Master kills Cole The Sky Man,
in order to power the Heavenly Paradigm, wanting to use it to end the The Heavenly Paradigm
War. The plan backfires, unintentionally causing both the Time Lords
and Daleks to win several battles they had once lost. Now scared, the
Master hides at the end of the universe and uses a Chameleon Arch to
turn himself into a human baby.

As a human, the Master becomes known as Yana, he spends his life TV: Utopia
travelling between refugee ships. As an older man he works as an
engineer on the Utopia Project and becomes known as a Professor.
During this time, Yana meets the Tenth Doctor and his companions,
and his attention is drawn to his old pocket watch which has never
worked. Yana opens the watch and becomes the Master again. He
shoots Chantho, who then shoots him. He stumbles into the Doctor’s
TARDIS and regenerates, escaping to Earth in the 2000s.

Seventeenth Incarnation - The Insane Master

The Master visits the Scoundrels Club and starts planning his revenge. PROSE: Dismemberment

The Master adopts the ‘Harold Saxon’ persona and sets up in British TV: The Runaway Bride, The
politics. He turns the Doctor’s TARDIS into a paradox machine and Lazarus Experiment, 42,
‘rescues’ the human remnants from the end of the universe. PROSE: Speech Day

‘Saxon’ wins the election and captures the Tenth Doctor, Martha and TV: The Sound of Drums
Captain Jack and releases the Toclafane to decimate the Earth.

The Master converts the Earth into a slave camp and rules from the PROSE: The Story of Martha,
Valiant. He forces Lucy to try to make a deal with his previous PROSE: The Unwanted Gift of
incarnations, by showing them future encounters with the Doctor. The Prophecy,
year is reversed and the Master is shot by his abused wife Lucy. He TV: The Last of the Time Lords
chooses to die to spite the Tenth Doctor.

The Master is resurrected, only for Lucy to sabotage the process, TV: The End of Time
meaning the Master has increased powers but his life force is
depleting. He escapes Broadfell Prison and after being invited by Missy,
the Master joins with his future selves to take part in ‘The Battle of the COMIC: The Abominable
Bands Beyond the Stars’ before returning to the urban wilderness. Showmen, The Five Masters

The Master uses the Immortality Gate to turn the humans into the TV: The End of Time
‘Master Race’, and brings Gallifrey out of the Time War. The Master
realises that he was used by Rassilon and so attacks Rassilon
accompanying him back into the Time War.

The Master is imprisoned in Gomer’s Asylum and the Time Lords bring PROSE: Lords and Masters
him back to full health, curing his skeletal condition. The Master then
blows up the War Room, escapes the asylum and kills Rassilon by
shoving White Point Stars down his throat. He then leaves Gallifrey.

PROSE: The Night Harvest

The Master lands on a Mondasian colony ship and is unable to escape TV: World Enough and Time,
because of its proximity to a black hole. He oversees the start of a new PROSE: Alit in Underland,
race of Cybermen and then disguises himself as Razor. The Master TV: The Doctor Falls
spends ten years with Bill Potts and then meets his future incarnation,
Missy. The Master is stabbed by Missy and he shoots her with his laser
screwdriver, he stumbles into the lift laughing maniacally.

The Master attempts to avoid his regeneration into Missy by healing AUDIO: Masterful
himself; firstly with the energies of Kiameth, and then by feeding on his
past incarnations. This process releases a sentient entropy wave on the
universe which turns out to be the Master’s own future form. These
events are undone and the timeline is aborted when the ‘War’ Master
poisons their past selves and the wave consumes Missy.

Eighteenth Incarnation - The “Missy” Master

The Master arrives at the Scoundrels Club but is soon kicked out PROSE: Dismemberment
because she now looks female. She takes her revenge on all the
members, torturing and killing them. In the process, she adopts the
name Missy and Dr. Skarosa inspires her to create the 3W Institute.

Missy meets up with Lucy Saxon who gives her three matrix data slices PROSE: The Unwanted Gift of
that were originally intended for an earlier incarnation of herself. Prophecy

Missy attempts to acquire sources of unlimited cosmic power, but is PROSE: Lords and Masters
interrupted by the General with a mission from the Time Lords. She
jettisons her Eye of Harmony, no longer bound to Gallifrey.

Missy puts in action a plan to steal the ‘Master TARDIS’. To do this she AUDIO: A Spoonful of Mayhem,
acquires a grandfather clock, a component from the Monk’s TARDIS Divorced, Beheaded,
and a Mark 212 TARDIS. She manages to locate and reach the Master Regenerated, The Broken Clock,
TARDIS, successfully cannibalising and powering her new ship. The Belly of the Beast

In possession of the Master TARDIS, Missy attempts to locate the AUDIO: The Lumiat,
Doctor. Instead, she finds the Lumiat, Strax and the Meddling Monk.
She acquires the Monk's TARDIS and is forced to travel with him.

Missy follows the Doctor’s timeline since last seeing him and finds out AUDIO: The Bekdel Test
that River Song has killed the Doctor. She meets her in the Bekdel
Institute and together they attempt to escape.

Missy creates the Nethersphere out of the matrix data slice, planning TV: The Bells of Saint John,
to harvest the souls of the dead and turn them into Cybermen. She Deep Breath,
also targets Clara Oswald ensuring that she meets and stays with the PROSE: Dismemberment,
Doctor. She then kills Danny Pink which leads the Twelfth Doctor and TV: Dark Water,
Clara to the 3W Institute. Missy presents the Cybermen to the Doctor Death in Heaven,
who rejects her gift, but just wants her friendship. Missy is then shot by The Witch's Familiar
the cyber-converted Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, using the blast to
recharge her vortex manipulator and teleport her away.

PROSE: Teddy Sparkles Must Die!

Missy receives the Twelfth Doctor’s confession dial from Ohila and TV: The Magician's Apprentice,
tracks down Clara so that they can find the Doctor together. After The Witch's Familiar
reuniting with him, they end up on Skaro where she is trapped.

After putting her ‘clever idea’ into action, Missy escapes the Dalek City PROSE: The Liar, the Glitch and
to her TARDIS which was sitting in the Time Vortex. Because of a the War Zone
temporal collision with another ship, the TARDIS crashlands in Venice.
Missy rewrites events by time-ramming her own TARDIS.

Missy recruits four of her previous incarnations to take part in ‘The COMIC: The Abominable
Battle of the Bands Beyond the Stars’ so that they could hypnotise the Showmen, The Five Masters
audiences across the galaxy. However the incarnations end up fighting
for control and they are disqualified from the competition.

Missy is captured and sentenced to execution, and the Twelfth Doctor PROSE: Missy on Trial,
is ordered to be her executioner. She promises to the Doctor that she TV: Extremis
will turn good, and states to be his friend. He then promises to guard PROSE: Girl Power!
her body for a thousand years and pretends to kill her. Missy is then TV: Thin Ice, Knock Knock,
put into a Quantum Fold Chamber, which the Doctor transports to St. The Lie of the Land
Luke’s University. Whilst there she starts trying to reform her ways.

Missy is released from the vault by Nardole, to help get the TARDIS TV: Empress of Mars,
back to Mars in 1881. This prompts Missy to be released more COMIC: The Great Shopping Bill,
regularly, with the Doctor allowing her to work on the TARDIS. A Confusion of Angels
TV: The Eaters of Light

Missy is sent on a mission to follow a distress call from a colony ship. TV: World Enough and Time,
Here, she meets her previous incarnation who has been stuck on the PROSE: Alit in Underland,
ship and helped create the Cybermen onboard. Missy acts as if she is TV: The Doctor Falls
working with the Master, but she admits that she will stand with the
AUDIO: The Lumiat
Doctor as a friend. Missy stabs the Master and he shoots her with a full
blast of his laser screwdriver. She collapses on the floor of the ship and
is able to use an Elysian Field to kickstart a new regeneration cycle.

Twentieth Incarnation - The Spy Master

The Master returns to Gallifrey and hacks the Matrix. There he TV: Spyfall,
discovers the truth of the ‘Timeless Child’. Enraged that the Founders The Timeless Children
of Gallifrey had lied about the origins of the Time Lord race, the Master
ravages Gallifrey - killing the Time Lords and burning the Capitol.

The Master infiltrates MI6, killing and replacing one of their agents, TV: Spyfall
becoming O, an horizon-watcher for alien occurrences. He moves to
the Australian outback and works with Daniel Barton on an alliance
with the Kasaavin.

The Master is stranded on Earth for 77 years. PROSE:

As soon as he reaches the time that he left, his plan backfires and he is
trapped in the Kasaavin’s dimension.

The Master is driven insane escaping from the Cheetah planet. He PROSE: The Eight Doctors
makes a deal with the Morgs on their planet to acquire deathworm
morphants.
The Master attempts to gain a new body from the Fleshsmiths, as the PROSE: Prime Time
Cheetah virus will kill his current body within a year.

The Master tries to stave off the effects of the Cheetah virus by draining PROSE: Stop the Pigeon
the life from elderly hospital patients.

The Master tries to find a new body. He uses the time winds to turn a PROSE: Omegamorphosis
boy into a mouse. The Seventh Doctor interferes with the plan.
The Master works with Adam Mitchell to take revenge on the Doctor, COMIC: Facades, Cat and Mouse,
but is secretly working to destroy all of reality. The Choice, Endgame

The Master starts looking older, with grey hair. He captures the Doctor’s GAME: Destiny of the Doctors
incarnations and puts them into the Determinant. The Graak
successfully frees the Doctors and Master is captured and imprisoned.

The Master tracks a Warp Core to Earth and intends to use it to power AUDIO: Dust Breeding
his TARDIS. It attacks the Master and strips him of his Trakenite form.
The Master is flung through time and space.

The decaying Master arrives on Perfugium with no memory of who he is, AUDIO: Master
he calls himself John Smith and lives a life as a physician for ten years.

The Magistrate/The War King (War in Heaven)

The Master travels with Judy Collins under the name Yardley James, but PROSE: Judy’s War
leaves her when he becomes aware of the War with the Enemy.
An older-looking Master meets up with the Doctor (claiming to be in his TV: The Curse of Fatal Death
ninth incarnation) on Tersurus. They attempt to trick each other and the
Master spends nine centuries in the sewers of the planet. He allies
himself with the Daleks and is augmented with their technology. After
witnessing the Doctor regenerate multiple times he flirted with the
female Thirteenth Doctor and they walked away together.
The Master travels to one of the Nine Gallifreys to warn the Lord PROSE: The Book of the War
President, only to be ignored. He returns five years later and meets with
the Inner Council of the Time Lords who pardon him for his crimes. Forty
years later, the Master returns once again and is held in a life-support
machine which revives his body. The Master stays on Gallifrey and
becomes the Magistrate under President Umbaste.
The Magistrate investigates the Effect and witnesses the attempted PROSE: The Infinity Doctors
return of Omega to the matter universe. The Magistrate refuses to serve
Omega and Omega vanishes the Magistrate out of harm’s way.
The Magistrate is seemingly taken prisoner by ‘One’ and dosed with PROSE: The Book of the War
large amounts of praxis, causing him to hallucinate and witness a
possible version of the Enemy’s first attack on Gallifrey.
The Magistrate succeeds Umbaste as Lord President and decides to call PROSE: The Book of the War,
himself the War King. He allies with human/TARDIS Compassion and The Taking of Planet 5
sends Homunculette to investigate the Elder Things.
When his own TARDIS Lolita becomes a threat, the War King begins an AUDIO: Body Politic ,
alliance with Faction Paradox. The War King is consumed by her. Words from Nine Divinities
The Android Master (Post-War in Heaven)

Without his physical form, the post-War “Ninth” Doctor offers the WEB: Scream of the Shalka,
Master to recreate his body as an android within his TARDIS. The Master PROSE: The Feast of the Stone
accepts and accompanies him on his travels.
‘Mestizer’ (Post-War in Heaven)

In a female form with black hair, the Master takes on the name PROSE: The Cabinet of Light,
‘Mestizer’. Seemingly stranded in 1949, the Master attempts to secure The Tunnel at the End of the
the Doctor’s TARDIS by hypnotising her followers. She takes regular Light, Harvest of Time
baths to restore her appearance, otherwise her body decays to a
“ghastly state” where her hair is veined in white.

The Child Master (Time War)

The Master fights in the Time War alongside the War Doctor. Together COMIC: Outrun,
they encounter the Volatix Cabal during which the Master attempts to The Then and the Now,
flee the War in his TARDIS that arrived from the future, but this causes a The Organ Grinder,
massive paradox, reverting back to his previous incarnation. Kill God, Fast Asleep
