Promoting Priestly Mission of Christ

Informative Speech

Giving selfless sacrifice to other people can make them know that they matter to you. Being
selfless means that you are putting other people’s welfare first than your own. You think less of
yourself, and more about others. This shows much more kindness, care, love, and generosity to
them. Setting aside our own interests and desires can help us empathize with other people and
connect with them harmoniously. Just like what Jesus did to mankind. He is giving Himself to
connect with us. Jesus did not show selfishness, and even to his last breath, He was willing to
sacrifice Himself to save us from our sins. Egoism and self-centeredness can lead to injustice,
war, distrust, and barriers with other people. Recently, a war happened between Israel and
Palestine, as a result of death of many people. If only people could show a little kindness, love,
and understanding to their neighbors, no matter what their race, culture, and views are, good
relationships with each other would be established.

Christ has a three-fold mission as Prophet, Priest, and King. Jesus is the great high priest. He
teaches His disciples the good news and law of the bible. He asked His apostles to continue the
ministries that He had begun. He is purifying the unclean, cleansing the temple, forgiving sins,
and praying for His own. According to Hebrews 5:7, you are a priest forever, according to the
order of Melchizedek. This proves that the priesthood of Jesus is eternal. He is the king of
kings, and no one would be the highest except Him. He is forgiving and able to empathize with
those who are weak. He is a perfect priest since His love is perfect and could never grow, it
also never wavered or diminished. His love for us is eternal that He gave His only begotten
son so whosoever believes in Him could have everlasting life. The Holy Eucharist, on the other
hand, represents the last supper in which Jesus blessed the bread and wine that represents His
body and His blood of the covenant. The priest in the church represents the Eucharistic
sacrifice in the person of Christ and offers it to God on behalf of all humanity. For me,
receiving the Holy Eucharist means that I am accepting Jesus’ divinity and soul in my life.
Holy Eucharist is both a sacrament and a sacrifice. Jesus shows Himself in the form of bread
and wine and makes me acknowledge His everlasting love and sacrifice. Receiving
communion makes me connect and have a deeper relationship with God. Receiving Jesus in
my life reminds me to obey His laws and share the good news of the bible with other people. It
strengthens my relationship with my family by attending the mass every Sunday and living
with the grace and will of God.

I can show the priestly mission of Jesus by being one of the Knights of the Altar every Sunday
in St. John Paul II Church. I obey the laws and commands of God. I respect my parents by
following their commands. I am living my life in accordance with the will of Jesus and treat
other people with empathy, love, and care as Jesus did to His disciples. I let Jesus be the center
of my life, and I trust His plans for me and for my family. I believe that connecting with God
helps me connect harmoniously with the people around me. I treat other people with love and
respect. My family helps people who are in need, especially during calamity, wherein we give
whole-heartedly donations to them.

Dear fellow youth, Jesus is a great example of selfless sacrifice. He died on the cross to save
us from our sins. His love and sacrifice are eternal. He would love it if we obeyed His teachings
and submitted ourselves to Him. Jesus is not asking too much from us. We should realize that
we have a purpose and sins separate us from God’s purpose for us. Accepting Him is the only
solution to save us from sins. We can accept Him wholeheartedly. Now.
