Let's Read and Write About ... (1) - Everyday Life
I usually get up at 7 o'clock. Well. My Mum wakes me up! I brush my teeth; get
dressed. Well... almost... I often can't find my clothes! They are under the desk sometimes or
under my bed. It's terrible! My Mum often says: "Hurry up, Jeremy! You’ll be late." Before
I go out I kiss her on the cheek and she says "Have a nice day. Don't forget to eat your
breakfast. " At school my lessons start at 8 o'clock! We usually have five or six lessons a day.
I come back ho me around one or two p.m. My Mum waits for me for dinner because she
doesn't go to work.
I usually have some soup, meat or fish, but they are not my favourite. I like pizza best!
After lunch I usually play computer games or go outside to play with my friends. My Mum
calls me to come back home. "Jeremy! Do your homework first!" she says. I do my homework
very quickly and then have some time to do what I like.
My Dad comes back home around six. He is usually tired after work but he often plays
with me. He likes my train set. My Mum often asks: "Who's the child here, Jeremy or you?"
It's because my Dad can behave like a child, really.
We have supper at eight and then I have a bath or a shower. I brush my teeth, wash
my hands, face and everything. But I hate washing my hair because the shampoo gets into my
eyes. Then my parents start repeating: "It's time to go to bed, it's time to go to bed!" So I go to
bed - at nine. Sometimes I read my comics before I fall asleep. It's really tiring to be a
ten-year-old boy. From: Kompedium Szóstoklasisty, Papilon
